We stayed for 12 nights to visit local attractions & also convenient for visiting family. The field is prone to becoming very soggy after heavy rain, the site owner looked after us & found a solid spot next to the house. We were given a good welcome & was shown the facilities at our disposal. I would put this site in the category of being a good base. We were out most days enjoying walks along the canal, we walked to Chorley & to Botany Bay shopping centre. Great for spotting kingfishers etc along the canal side. We also made use of the trains which was a 10 minute walk away. We had days out in the Lake district, Liverpool & Manchester. You could hire a boat for the day or half day from a place a 15 minute walk away. Not the best site we have been on, yet it was one of the best breaks we have had recently. Like I say we found ourselves more out & about rather than staying in the van. As has been said the electrics will not support the electric heater so we did use plenty of gas. There were plenty of comings & goings in the yard from deliveries & the boating community fetching their post. That said everyone we came across were a very friendly bunch. We will certainly be back.
