We love this site!

We love this site and stayed in May and August of this year. Easily accessible, beautiful views of Dartmoor, relaxed site, friendly & helpful owners, and great site for visiting places of interest in and around Dartmoor. They are dog-friendly with a nice new dog run and dog bins. There is a shower, which I am told by our friends who also stayed (as we shower in our van!), that it is very nice. Water and electricity and drain direct to your pitch. All for £12 a night. It's a no-brainer if you are after a simple peaceful site without club houses, swimming pools, entertainment, shops, etc etc - which suits us just fine as we come away to relax and go walking and see the surrounding countryside. Plenty of nice pubs within 10 minutes drive of the site and a lovely walk direct from the site along the Paragon Way. Another plus for us is that the owners are fairly relaxed about our caravan remaining on site on on our last day so that we can go off walking and then come back to collect the caravan in the afternoon before leaving. Wonderful! Thank you Derek & Gill. We will no doubt see you again!

Just lovely

Read the reviews prior to booking and wasn't disappointed. We only stopped over for 2 nights on our way to Cornwall but will definitely visit again. Well kept and spacious with clean loos and shower. Beautiful views too and all this for £12.50 - bargain.

First class again

Retuned home today 27/06/17 after another great stay here where the facilities are well above what you would expect on a CL they are immaculately kept by the very pleasant and helpful owners. Will return to this site again and again. Thank you for another terrific break.

One of the best - 5 stars all the way

Fourth time at Ashbury coincided with the June heatwave. Perfect! We love this site as it's only an hour, or so, away from Braunton and is perfect for a 'change of scenery'. Facilities are top notch. Derek and Gill are friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. Perfect site for exploring Dartmoor. We will be back again.

A great CL

This is a wonderful CL. It is easy to get to being a few hundred yards off the Bude road. this means there is a little traffic noise but nothing to worry about. The views over Dartmoor are superb. The site is beautifully maintained. All pitches are hard standing with an all weather mat at the side for awnings. There are two toilets and a shower which are the best I have ever experienced on a CL. The position is good, being about 10 minutes from Okehampton, which has everything you could need, whilst being in a rural location. There is plenty to do and if you like walking there are endless walks on the moor. We hired bicycles from Okehampton station and cycled along the old track to Lydford, with its National Trust Gorge and a good pub. We also spent two days on the north coast, about 40 minutes drive away visiting Bude as well as Tintagel and Boscastle. All in all an excellent site, worth staying for some time but it would also make a good stop-over on the way to Cornwall.

Wonderful

We stayed at Ashbury Farm for 7 nights last week. It was the first CL we had stayed on and it was with a little trepidation we turned into the site. We were met by a friendly face who directed us to our pitch which had hard standing, electric and water. The facilities included his and hers toilets and a shower which we kept immaculately clean. Derek asked us if we wanted WiFi and lent us an extender. The views of Dartmoor were spectacular. The site was very quiet and the 'entertainment' was watching a young dog being trained to roundup sheep. Would recommend so much so that we have booked to go again. Thank you Derek and Gill.

Lovely site

We stayed at this site a couple of times last year and after returning last weekend it remains one of our favourites. The site is easy to get to, has hard standings, electric and water connection per pitch, it is quiet, friendly owners and a lovely view - who could want more. In addition it is extremely well priced and has good facilities (one shower and two toilets). We love the tranquility of this site and it's locations. It is particularly excellent if you love walking as it is so close to the moors. I cannot think of any reason as to why anyone would not want to visit this site.

Luke & Erin - 1 week

This was our first experience of a Certified Location and indeed caravanning itself making it hard for us to make comparisons. That being said we loved Ashbury Caravan Park and the access to Dartmoor it affords. Access to the site is a doddle, all services and amenities are kept to a high standard and the gallery is lovely. The site is lovely and peaceful with only minimal traffic noise in the far distance (the roads are relatively quiet). Sunrise and sunset are beautiful and when shrouded in darkness you get lovely views of the moon and stars due to low light pollution which makes the Dartmoor skyline look astounding. Walking on Dartmoor is fantastic (obviously) but there are some lovely bridleways to explore within a few hundred yards of the caravan park as well. Absolutely perfect for dog people like us. The only reason we haven't given 5 out of 5 overall is because the site would benefit from laundry facilities and wifi. Now, the site doesn't advertise that they do have these so you may call it unfair as well as state "who wants wifi on a caravan park near Dartmoor", but for people like us who are on a long trip and planning as we go, laundry and wifi are essential for living and planning ahead. A site with the services it has should add these to the list. Thanks very much for a lovely stay. Will stop again anytime if back this way. Luke & Erin.
