Short stopover on route to Skye

Only stopped for one night on our way to Skye. Pleasantly surprised at the tidy ness, layout, peace and quiet of the site. There is a toilet and shower if you don’t have your own facilities, they are clean and do a job. The site is lovely, the pitches are large and well maintained, very quiet and within walking distance of the town of Maybole. We marked it 3 on access to places of interest as we weren’t there long enough to to find out. Learnt that there are something called Indian Running ducks, who knew? They, along with the chickens, sheep and cows made this a really homely site. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Very lovely site

We spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pitches are a good size and the 4 hard standing spaces are very level. The shower and WC room is very good and clean. The site is close to the beaches - we had lovely walks on Turnberry, Croy, Troon and Barassie, all dog friendly and plenty of space. We also had a wonderful walk in the Galloway Forest Park, from Stinchar Bridge - so beautiful and very quiet. We enjoyed a good meal at The Greenside in Maybole - very nice pizzas and great service. The Fox and Willow in Alloway was also delightful with great food and a very nice welcome. Would definitely recommend this site.

perfect

We chose this site as a stop over on our way to the highlands and it did not disappoint. Perfectly level pitches, clean toilet and shower and an enclosed wild play area for children. No excuse for CL pitches to be rough when you see how well kept this place is. Would i return? Absolutely

Lovely site

Lovely, well kept site with fabulous views. We've been here for a week and received a very warm welcome on arrival. There are both hard standing and grass pitches to choose from with plenty of room to spread out. The toilet/shower room has always been clean and we really can't recommend this site enough.

Good stay

We stayed for 3 nights before making the return trip to The Lakes. A warm welcome to this immaculate site with lovely level pitches and immaculate facilities. However, we have a large caravan and accessing the site through the rather run down housing estate in Maybole was a disappointment. The town was a let down, not the most prettiest town I’ve visited. We did visit Culzean Castle, a NT property and wow what a wonderful place, thoroughly recommend it. Would definitely recommend for a motorhome stop over.

Spick and span!

An excellent site with everything really neat and tidy. Little details like a hose tail on the fresh water tap much appreciated. We were slightly worried that proximity to a road would be a problem but traffic was light and we were never disturbed. Well situated for Culzean and Robbie Burns museum. Dumfries House not too far away. A very good site.

As good as ever

Arrived 12th August 2021 for another 10 night stay at this wonderful CL. Site is immaculate with manicured lawns and hedges and a spotlessly clean small toilet/shower block which was freshly painted (we couldn't use it last year due to Covid restrictions so it was good to have that option this time). Hard standings are nice and level and the views across the fields make you want to stay on site and admire them all the time! Water points and chemical disposal very close and easily accessible at the front of the site. The geese and hens still roam freely around the site in the evening and the little play area is a welcome attraction for the grandchildren. Having the grass area to play on when it is not occupied was a bonus for them also. Be aware that there is no wifi - whether that is a positive or negative depends on your internet access needs but we have never found it a problem as the mobile phone signal is fine. The site is a credit to the owners and they deserve every success with it. We will be back.

Well Presented Site

An extremely well-tended and obviously cared-for site. The shower/w.c. facilities were being enhanced but no surprise as we were advised in advance by the owner. The immaculate pitches and boundary hedges together with freshly painted (or at least appeared to be) facilities demonstrate the care and pride that the owners must put into this site. Would not hesitate to stay at this lovely peaceful site again and would recommend it to others.

TRANQUIL AND PRISTINE SITE

We were delighted to arrive at this tranquil and pristine site. We were welcomed by Mr. Watson junior and then by his father. The attention given to detail and cleanliness by Mr,. and Mrs. Watson is outstanding. We had a peaceful stay and highly recommend this CL site.
