Overcrowded

We stayed here for 1 night, a Thursday. Unfortunately, there was a rally setting up for the weekend and the CL already had 7 units on it when we arrived. There is a field next to the CL which was crowded with caravans for the rally and we were told to find a place on this field. We had to pitch very close to the neighbours and there were still more units arriving – not pleasant, peaceful or tranquil! We did have a nice walk into Pershore and back, during which we spotted a CS just down the road which looked much nicer and wasn’t crowded. We wished we’d gone there!

This sounds like an incident that should be brought to the attention of the club's CL department.

A CL can have no more than 5 units and if you booked the CL you should expect no more than 4 neighbours.

Yes, I'd definitely be contacting the club if we turned up at a CL and experienced that. It's one thing for a rally to be held in a field next to a CL, but really not on for rally attendees to pitch on the CL itself or use any of the facilities.

Maybe the owner of the CL would like to respond and clarify what was happening?

I would like to comment on 'Mrs Wrongun' review.  As a retired motorhomer we have used this CL many times over the last few years before Craig took over and since.  And whilst i agree that when there is a rally on the field there are more caravanners about but there has NEVER been more than 5 vehicles on the CL. In fact we have seen the owner of the CL turn people away so really dont understand Mrs Wronguns comment unless she got confused regarding the boundaries between the CL and the rally field i.e. 8 ft high trees.  Also would like to say that Craig observes the 21ft space between the vehicles so its impossible to feel hemmed in or overcrowded.  So in my opinion I'm wondering if the review is mistaking Avonbank Meadows with another Cl.

I would like to reinforce the above reply from “water gypsey” I too am a motorhome and a very frequent visitor to this site (if I can get on) and yes if there is a rally it can be “busy”,not too much black sabbath music after 9o,clock cocoa😂😂,but I would hazard a guess if this was an overnight stay it was probably “on spec” and if Mrs Wrongun had ventured further down the road there is indeed a c.c. Which I doubt would have accepted you as graciously as mr Browne does his visitors,at short notice,(I have stayed also at this site when I couldn,t get onto avonbank and may I say it doesn’t hold a candle to mr Browns site.regarding the 5 only area of this site it would be a first eve in my experience and find this remark a slur on mr Browns integrity if there ever was more than 5 on here as was suggested,as I have said previously when I have the misfortune not to be able to get on avonbank I have to settle for second best which is the site further down the road that Mrs Wrongun had the misfortune of missing, maybe she will have better luck next time😮
