Friendly and quiet (don't tell everyone)

Pitches are large, and even when having to pitch to one side to allow the grass to recover you are not on top of your neighbour. The field is pretty flat, with minimal additional levelling needed. There was a very slight 'buzz' from the A19 but this came and went depending on which way the breeze blew. We did have some frequent jet noise one afternoon, presumably from RAF Leeming, but since we live near an airbase this didn't bother us. Having said all that the overall feel of the site was very pleasant and quiet. EHU near each pitch, and waste disposal, water and bins all on the edge of the field near the gateway and easily accessible. Grass was short and ground drained well, even after some torrential rain. Site is easy to access from the A1(M) or the A19. Good wide turning into driveway and further up into the access gate to the field. Lots of attractions within an hours drive, plus about 1hr 30mins to the east coast. Owners are friendly, no rush to pay, and leaflet with information on the local area provided. Just wish we were closer to be able to visit more often.
