We booked to stay at Banns Cottage for 3 nights from 9-12 September but ended up staying for an extra day as it is such a lovely site and David and Sarah were very welcoming. We have a young puppy who loved the space to run around and play with Isla (David and Sarah's dog)....and steal her toys. Great access to some lovely circular coastal walks (e.g. from Treen to Porthgwarra and back) as well as some beautiful sandy beaches at Sennon Cove and Gwynver (the last one suitable for dogs all year round). We also visited Cape Cornwall near St Just where there is a lovely walk northwards past some beautiful rockpools and back round the coast past some old tin mines. The campsite is flat and spacious...no chocks required! Thanks David and Sarah
A sheltered, tranquil, well maintained site that feels very safe and relaxing. We stayed for six nights in a lovely private corner and were lucky enough to have this ideal CL to ourselves. I'm sure by the time we return word will have got out on how desirable this new site is, but with plenty of space and the flexibility to pitch where you like I'm certain it will retain its charm and appeal. The location is excellent, as is the access, and although a site with views might be tempting we were glad of the shelter from the regular winds during our early September visit. The owners are friendly and obviously keen to create a welcoming, idyllic retreat. This really is one of the best CLs we've ever stayed at - I'm rarely inclined to write a review but was keen to endorse the effort this enterprising couple has gone to, particularly as it came to our rescue (having booked an alternative CL nearby that was entirely unsuitable). Very highly recommended.
A lovely peaceful location with clean well maintained facilities. We spent a very enjoyable 3 nights here. The welcome from David and Sarah (not forgetting Isla the labrador!) was both friendly and informative. Less than 5 miles from The Minack theatre, so perfect for us to attend a performance there. Plenty of walks and cycling straight from the site.
We had a lovely stay at Banns Cottage. We made an impromptu booking to extend our stay in Cornwall and were so pleased to find this new CL in a prime location. 7 minutes drive from the wonderful white sand beach at Sennen Cove and the coast path at Lands End. Also close to other prime attractions such as St Michael's Mount, the Minnack Theatre, and St Ives. A really spacious site that even if full wouldn't feel crowded, there's more than enough room for 5 with a choice of 2 fields to pick from. We loved the natural feel to the site surrounded by hedgerows and that you could pitch anywhere, like a 'camping a la ferme' in France. We enjoyed watching the wild baby rabbits skipping about in the evening. Friendly helpful owners who offered a warm welcome. There's also a great farm shop just a bit further down the lane selling lovely homemade dinners, we recommend the lamb casserole. We wish David and Sarah lots of success with their new venture, and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We just hope that once word get's out about this great little site we can still get a space next time we are in the area.
Sarah and David couldn’t have been more welcoming. A new enterprise for them which has been carefully thought through. Delightful site, very spacious and well maintained. Very peaceful, so much so that we slept with the van door open all night, enjoying the breeze on a hot night. Sadly we could only stay for one night but we will be back without a doubt.
We were lucky enough to be the very first guests to Bann Cottage, in the very week they opened. Great communication and really welcoming during the stay. Both my wife and I are originally from the area, so know it well and the site perfectly central to all the good parts or far West Cornwall. The site is exceptionally spacious, and for 5 pitches, you will certainly have a lot of space to yourself. It’s the sort of site that we like, relaxed and just an ounce of remoteness. The night sky is incredibly dark, which I like for night photography By Cornwall standards, level cycling around most of the area.
