Very welcoming, friendly and peaceful

I read all the reviews before booking this site and whilst I agree there are some minor issues, it didn't detract from our two week stay. Its a great location central for touring the area Grass could be shorter, in all fairness Mr lord (Very pleasant) had the mower in bits and was waiting for a new drive belt Toilet waste point is one area that could be improved but not an issue to us, and although we were a fair distance away (150m) you can drive the car to the point which we did. The final stretch is narrow but plenty of passing points and as ever do your research on google street view. Fabulous walks from the site and further afield

Disappointing

Site is down a very narrow road. Pitched up in a large field but grass very long and harbouring lots of flies. Beautiful scenery of the bay. Went to locate the owner across the field, to pay and discovered toilet point is near the back of his house. Literally a hole in the ground with just a hose pipe. No flush so previously emptied contents on view and quite a walk with a full cassette. Walked through a dog poo filled garden to get to the front door to knock for the opener. He seemed pleasant enough and told us where to go for the coastal walk which we did. Lovely walk down to the bay but all up hill coming back.the field backs onto the road so there is local traffic noise. We were disappointed and felt the upkeep of this site could be much improved.

Beautiful View of St Brides Bay

From our caravan we had the most marvellous view of St Brides Bay on a clear day. This site was brilliant for us as we had our e-bikes and we were able to cycle down to Broad Haven just 2.2miles away on a quiet country lane, the hill back up was long and steep but our bikes managed that well. Easy access to Haverfordwest and St Davids. As in review below there is access to good walks and coastal path. This is a basic site with just electric and water, and elsan which is around by owners back entrance this is where you go to pay and see Mr Lord. The only complaint would be is that the grass was long and clumpy. On arrival the best way to contact Mr Lord by phone as his bungalow is not obvious as the house next door is owned by someone else so do not go there, there is a sign at entrance to field.

Peace and quiet

Firstly if your expecting five star facilities then this is not the place for you, but if like us you value peace and quite a huge field for five vans and most important great for our dogs this would be ideal. Michael the owner is a nice fella and explained where everything was and how to access some great walks directly from the site, your on the beach within 15 mins, the views are great and unlike the nearby sites you have so much space we spent 10 days here and would come back cheers Kev and Les

This is a most beautiful place

We enjoyed the site. We have recently stayed on this site and we found it to be a most wonderful place to stay. There are fabulous views over St Brides Bay and the surrounding countryside. At the end of the field there is a delightful walk along a quiet country lane that leads onto a bridleway that is connected to the scenic coastal path. This walk also takes you to Druidston beach where we were able to let our dogs have a good run on the sands . There were few people on the beach . There are two drinking taps in the field. There is a chemical toilet disposal point with a mains water spray next to it.Disposal is via a lift up that leads into a septic antitank. The  toilet and showers were clean. This was great value for money and a most beautiful place top stay for the week. We will definitely come back again. Mick and Norma

Quiet site, stunning (distant) views

A nice quiet site with stunning (but distant) views, a short walk to access the cliff walk to Nolton Haven. Only one tap in a large field, elsan point is just ok the water point is a hose pipe hanging from the tree beside it. Didn't look in the shower, the yard had quite a few doggie doos.

A great disappointment

£14.00 per night cannot be justified just by the distant view. The showers are in an outhouse of dubious hygiene. The black waste disposal point is unsanitary & belongs in the dark ages. What a terrible waste of a lovely location & I cannot believe that the CC has condoned the abuses of acceptable 21st environmental health.

Could be a wonderful site with a little bit of effort

Entrance is narrow, awkward and could be better signed. On our visit grass was very long and entrance rutted and muddy, obviously wet weather didn't help. Pitches grouped at top of field however, if you take extra electric leads it is possible to pick a pitch with a good view. Single water tap, again in a muddy area, where the addition of a few slabs would make all the difference. Chemical disposal point is like stepping back 20 years - beware!! no water supply at chemical point. Site is in a beautiful location with fantastic views over St. Brides Bay. Nolton Haven beach is 5mins away, free car park, small cafe & shop, coast guard in attendance, with sunshine all you need for a family.Newgale beach 15 mins away with miles of sand.
