Pleasant site, great for Chester

This is a great site, within a couple of miles from Chester. The place is very tidy, with pretty troughs full of flowers. It's a very attractive Cheshire farm house with the outbuildings converted into modern facilities. We were in the back of the field which overlooked a lovely field, with 2 friendly ponies. Our friend's 2 boys thought this was great and fed them carrots and apples - and there was plenty of room for them to play. There is a good shower with loo/sink and another area with a washing up sink and extra loo - all very up to date and spotless. There are no groundsheets allowed, as they have impeccable grass, but no problem with BBQ's and they provide flat stones for such a purpose. Overall we enjoyed our stay: watching the ponies in the field from the campervan window, our BBQs, and walking the dog down Plemstall Lane to the old church, about 1 km away. There are many lovely walks around the church, with horses in the fields and great views. The couple Terry and Jean, are very helpful and provide info about Chester and area, and useful bus schedules. Great for visiting Chester with the bus stop nearby.

1 night stop for family party

Nice little site, next to a main road but high hedges create a sense of being in the countryside. 10 mins from Chester. Plenty of space for children to play. Facilities are good with two toilets and a good shower ( 40p a go ) Owners are friendly. Would happily stay there again.

Beech Farm

Excellent large cl site overlooking fields with very good toilet, washing and shower facilities. We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it and will visit again later in the year. Great days out in Chester, Chester Zoo and Ness Botanical Gardens.

BOOKED FOR 4 NIGHTS STAYED FOR 3 NIGHTS

my son booked this site for us 6 months ago we had booked for 3 nights but added another a few days before going. on arrival we were greeted by the owners who appeared friendly. we were shown to our pitch and commenced to set up putting our awning up, my husband went to use the toilet and noticed little signs around stating NO GROUNDSHEETS ALLOWED even breathable ones he asked the owner who said it was correct, and he said it was in the cc book , we told him we only used the app or website and at that time it wasn't on that, . as my son had booked it i contacted him and he emailed the owner who told him we couldnt have our deposit back, but offered us a pitch in a large yard at the back of his property that was black stone like chippings, this wasnt suitable for our granddaughter to play and we couldn't safely see them playing on the grass from were we were sited. We started looking for another site , very hard on a busy bank holiday, we went for a drive around the area to check on a few and managed to find one. on our return the owners mood had altered greatly, he greeted us with the cc book showing no ground sheets again i said as it wasn't on the website we hadn't seen it and in all correspondence it hadn't been mentioned, he then said he wasn't putting up with the hassle from us ( at no point did we give him any we are not that type of people) he said we could have our deposit back and for him everyone could " bugger off " that weekend as he wasn't in the mood due to a bereavement i said i was sorry for his loss, but he must take it up with the club , he said we had to be off the site first thing the next morning. when we got up next morning after a disturbed night due to traffic noise from the busy round the grass in our awning was wet through due to heavy rain and all our things that we had put in it so us our 2 granddaughters and 3 dogs could sleep were wet. hardly suitable.

the dog walk nearby was out of the gate past a lay by full of buses which to get by you had to walk on to a busy road down to a village green I would hardly call this suitable especially if you have small children who like walking too.

the owner said  loved his grass to to stay perfect green,  the site was immaculate But as this is the case  i suggest then the owner just has motor homes and caravans that don't use awnings .. This  spoilt the beginning of our weekend , plus put pressure on both my husband and I due to having back problems putting our awning up and down the re erecting it elsewhere. would never stay here again

We did not stay here due to no groundsheets allowed

We booked this site around 6 months ago and paid a deposit for each caravan for the August Bank holiday weekend. We were due to arrive on Friday night but when my parents arrived 1 day earlier they were setting up and was told that no groundsheets were allowed. We use the CC website and App to book our caravan breaks and there is no mention of the no groundsheet rule on there but the owner stated that it was in the CC book which we never use for booking. We asked for a refund of our deposits because this was an error down to the owner and the CC and not ours. But the owner refused but after several emails and a chat on the phone he decided to refund us minus the 1 night my parents had to stay until we found a new site which we were very lucky to do with it being the Bank holiday. On the night that my parents stayed it rained all night and in the morning the awning floor was wet through and they couldn't even let their dogs lay down in the awning. Other than the No groundsheet issue the site was very well looked after and the owners were ok.

Amazing

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful, good value for money even the shower was well worth it. There is a small area especially for washing pots and preparing food. Garden amazing, well cared for and site is very clean and tidy. Lots of space between Caravans and Motorhomes. Very relaxing.Easy access to Chester and 10 mins away from Cheshire Oaks. Recommend visiting.

Lovely site.

Just got back from a four night stay at this site. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and obviously take great pride in this well maintained site. As previous reviews say, plenty of space for each pitch with a little road noise and occasional aeroplane noise but we expected that and it did not spoil our stay in the least. this is the second time we have stayed at the site and no doubt we will use it again. Only a couple of niggles 1) 40p for the shower is excessive especially as you only get a few minutes use. and 2) The 2016 prices have gone up quite a lot from the 2015 prices, we were told that the fee per night was now fully inclusive and we didn't have to pay extra for an awning e.t.c. That would have been fine if we had an awning to put up! would much prefer to pay a lower price for a standard pitch with electric and then pay extra if we wanted to use an awning.

Lovely site

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. Its really well looked after, clean and tidy. We received a warm welcome and were shown where everything was (toilet + shower, water, wastes). The pitches are all on grass which is kept short and each pitch has more than enough space.  The TV reception and phone signal are both excellent. Chester is a short trip away - about 10 minutes on the bus. One criticism is the shower is 20p for 2 minutes - I personally would prefer to pay an extra 50p a night more and not have to worry about finding change for the shower. I would definatley use this CL again

Pleasant site

Access to the site is straight off the main road and is well signed. A warm welcome awaits. The site is flat on closely mown grass and cut fur tree hedging borders the area. Each pitch has its own designated location within a small hedge border. Good 10amp electrics, water and disposal is next to the house just a few steps away, as is the toilet and shower. The shower is 20p in the slot but is a good hot shower. Well worth it. The main road runs right outside the site and can be noisy during the day but quiet on the night. The main M53 is only a mile away so getting around is good. The bus into Chester is £2.50 each way and stops 50 metres down the road. It will be a definate return here.
