For a quick escape from Edinburgh, I parked up at North Berwick promenade last night. Three other vans there, but when I returned a few hours later from walking along the beach, my little camper had been surrounded by massive motorhomes... some barely 2 feet apart, which can't be safe. I also couldn't see much of the view any more! So I phoned this CL because they're only 20 minutes away, and within half an hour was surrounded by trees and birdsong, with beautiful views. Very basic, but what do you expect for £5? I did go past the turnoff, but google maps is a useful thing. I guess the field might get soggy in rainy weather, but it was absolutely fine despite the torrential rain just a few days ago. Had a wonderful peaceful night and can't wait to go back.
