Nice simple site with great views!

Stayed for 2 nights in May. Nice peaceful laid back site with great views. The only noise we had was the sheep munching the grass! £15 with hook up and £10 without. Fresh water and elsan. Had some heavy rain overnight and our 3.5t van quickly became stuck when we wanted to leave at 06.45am. Slightly embarrassed but I shouldn't have worried as the farmer/owner was more than happy to give us a short tow to dry land! Recommended!

A hidden gem

This is a great site which we have visited regularly over last three years. If we need electric as in autumn it's £12per night, but most times we have been off grid using solar and in which case John only charges £7pn We managed three weeks last summer off grid!. A true Bargain! Water ,elsan point and waste disposal all handy! The is a venue where you can walk the dog off site for miles safely. More important is the access to so many places of interest! Housesteads Roman wall, Northumberland parks The Sill, Corbridge, Hexham,Wallington NT,Kielder forest and all that has to offer plus Otterburn woollen mill which has great cafe,Kirkharle where Capability brown lived and started his gardening career! Sitting outside the van at night the scenery over the fields plus the quietness us noticeable! You couldn't wish for a nicer farmer John ,who owns the site ,who pops over to check everything is ok!

Very pleasant site

Stayed on this site after visiting Kielder & Hadrians Wall in early May '22. Great CL very quiet & plenty of space with lovely views. Pleasant owner. Electric was unexpectedly available. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Off Grid Site

We stayed Bingfield Combe in early July 2021 and had the site to ourselves. Jonathan met us on arrival and showed us the basic facilities. Otherwise we were left completely alone; perfect! The site is all grass with a gentle slope. Access is down a narrow lane which is not at all busy. The second turning off the A68 heading north is definitely the better route in. Some people have mentioned the sound of dogs barking from the neighbouring kennels, but this only seemed to be at what we guess was feeding time. The only other ‘noise’ was from birds and sheep in the fields next to the site. We used Bingfield Combe as a base for the first 4 legs of our Hadrian’s Wall Path coast to coast walk. It was great to come back to such a peaceful location after a long day walking to sit and enjoy the views. Lovely!

A hidden gem

My wife and I came for four days in October - four lovely sunny days. The owner was very helpful in setting up the Booking and on arrival. All services were as described and in full working order. We found it such a quiet gem of a place. An earlier reviewer had mentioned noise of dogs in the early morning from the nearby kennels. We heard no noise from them (though were inmpressed by the way the owner walked all dogs four times a day in his field!). It is a very beautiful part of the country, with the historic town of Corbridge a particular delight. Wandering off the beaten track provided us with many surprises and a trip north to Otterburn (including the well-know Otterburn Mill Outlet) in such spacious and beautiful countryside was a great delight. As were a number of the smaller communities in the area. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great place

Perfct for us, access to many places including local walks. No electricity which we think is good as we don’t need it so why pay for it. I think the price has gone up to £7 but that’s ok.

Lovely CL

A fantastic CL on a beautiful field and in wonderful countryside. It's got all we need for a happy stay and the only slight drawback for some would be the dogs from the kennels barking in the morning. Great place, we'll definitely be back.

Very wet stay but didn't stop us

When we stayed it was after a period of rain and the site was very wet - I probably wouldn't go back again unless it was a bit less soggy - but that is not the fault of the CL. The CL is based on a farm in a small field at the back of the farm house with fields all around giving very pretty and peaceful surroundings. The access road is quite narrow but we didn't encounter any other vehicles using it at any point of our stay. We used the site as a base to explore the area. We spent one day at Hadrian's Wall walking with the dogs, another looking round the lovely town of Hexham and sampling some locally produced food, a day walking in Kielder Forest and the one sunny day of our holiday we drove up the coast stopping at various beaches on the way.
