Great for a quiet break

Stayed here for a couple of nights. We picked the right weekend - August Bank Holiday. No electric on the campsite, so units need to be self sufficient, and it is a drinking club - so no food is usually available (apart from a bag of crisps). Social Club is run by volunteers, and is open in the evenings - when you can visit, get a drink and pay the site fees. There is hard standing available if the CL area is wet. Wednesday nights is when the bikers turn up - if you want to see some Harleys and Triumphs. While we were there there was live entertainment (good guitar player/singer) and everyone had brought something for a buffet. We were made to feel very welcome, and enjoyed a really social evening - all for the cost of a pack of cooked sausages. There is bingo on Sundays. Good walks to Binton village centre which has an interesting church, Welford on Avon (which has a shop), Luddington, and to the Blue Boar pub at Temple Grafton, which is less than a mile away (really good reasonably priced food and with fast electric car chargers). Just down the road is Bidford, which is a lovely village with shops, takeaways, pubs and a fantastic riverside country park (no height restrictions so suitable for motorhomes). Really enjoyed our weekend at Binton, Plenty of blackberries to pick in the hedgerows, a few rabbits to watch, and great views towards Stratford from the clubhouse.

A lovely little gem

We stayed here 26th September 2018 for one night and although the signage was a little confusing we had a quiet and peaceful stay. There are two entrances to the site and if you choose one you may not even get as far as the official site before you park up. We did. This area is west facing and is great for afternoon sun, whereas the official camping area is surrounded by trees and a little shaded, although the right pitch can be East facing for morning sun. The social club was clean and great for a drink and on a sunny day would be great to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Top tip telephone after seven pm to book as the social club doesn't open until then.

Handy CL for social Club

Visited summer months...small pretty site, enclosed by trees & shrubs just a stone throw away (literally) from the Binton Social Club...The Road that goes through the village is very busy and traffic noise spoils this site....also we noticed the site was used as a dog exercise area for some people who just drove onto the CL field ..stopped the their car and let their dog run wild unleashed whilst they sat in their vehicle and read newspapers....we sent the dog packing a couple of times...we didnt want it lifting its leg up van.. Dog owners didnt seem to bother what it was doing....We had afternoon/early morning rain the day we were leaving and as the site sloped downward it holds the water which made the site very wet & boggy, we had great difficulty getting the caravan off the site...so beware ! Handy for the Club & Steward very friendly & welcoming.
