Disappointing

Beautiful views but disappointing CL. Our car skidded slightly on the access incline and we couldn't see the road as we topped the brow of the 'hill'. We were totally dismayed when we saw the CL as it obviously wasn't that well maintained. There were no pitching instructions and no useful information packs etc. Our hard standing pitch (no.2) wasn't wide enough for our small caravan and porch awning and it wasn't clear where we were meant to park our car as the access roads needed to be kept clear for other outfits. It was eventually tucked in at the rear of our van. The grass between pitches apparently hadn't been cut recently and the grass around the hook up points didn't look as if it had ever been trimmed. We couldn't even sit in our awning as the ground was too uneven for our table and chairs. We spoke to two other visitors to the site who also felt it was overpriced for what was on offer. However, what made it worse was the total lack of personal communication. The booking and payment of deposit was done via a website and on arrival we discovered that the balance had to be paid via an envelope which we had to post in a box. We never met the owner at any point which is a shame as chatting to the owner is often the best way of getting to know an area.

The majority of visitors love this cl as it has without a doubt it has one of the best views in Scotland. The incline will be sorted this winter as the odd car has has a bit of trouble towing up it.

There is a person who cuts the grass who can sometimes be  delayed for a few days.

Ive never had anyone complain about their table being uneven before 😂

A lot of people who run a CL have other commitments and cannot be hands on

I think most people decent people reading your review will realise that you are probably a serial complainer and will be more suited to the larger sites where there is someone on hand most of the time and the place is kept perfect.

Kind Regards

So sad that some people write such negative posts. We love this site and come as often A we can. Peace, tranquility, views to die for, beautiful walks, amazing birdlife, what more can be asked for, electrics, water and a pitch with uninterrupted views of Castle, Mountains and Loch. Its a CL not a gold medal site. The essential amenities are provided. It is perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing holiday. Stuart is a  very busy trusting, man who has worked hard to provide a place on this rocky lochside which allows us to pitch our vans, giving us all the opportunity to stay on his property to enjoy this beautiful place. I have encountered many a site with more awkward and hillier entrances than this. Some people are very hard to please. We love it here and will keep coming back  to our favourite place, an absolute gemThankyou Stuart
