One of the best!

We've spent nearly 2,000 nights caravanning, the vast majority of those nights on CL's. Our seven night stay at Blackwell Hall Farm CL ranks amongst the top five of all the CL's we've ever stayed on in 40 plus years caravanning. Why? It's a neat, tidy, well kept site with excellent views and Christine is a very helpful, interested and very interesting owner. There's a good dog walk, the site drains well, the facilities are user friendly, there's a pub / eatery in Taddington - a good walk or a short drive away. What more do you need for a cracking, relaxing holiday? We'll be back!

Wonderful week

We have had our first experience of staying at Blackwell Hall, what a gem of a site. Located well away from any roads and offering great views combined with peace and tranquility even though it is a working farm. We met the owner shortly after arriving, a very pleasant, welcoming lady and a delight to chat to. The location of the site gives easy access to many of the Peak districts most popular destinations. We look forward to many more visits.

Walking Holiday.

An accessible site just off the A6. Good hard standing pitches. Great views. Even after heavy showers, drainage was good. Owner readly accessible and very pleasant. Although it did not worry us, the site is on the incoming flight path for Manchester airport and occassional flights into East Midlands were identified but mostly freight traffic. Being summer and with long light evenings plus at weekends, there was regular and noisy motor bikes using both the local road and the A6, again we did not let it worry us. What did concern us was the issue around the numbers of caravans/motorhomes using the site at any one time. During our stay, on one night there were 7 pitches occupied and 6 on 3 other separate nights. This over loading did not affect us directly but some occupants did have their views obstructed.

A wonderful site to stay on

This is a very well placed site for people who love outstanding views. An easy site to access with lots of wonderful walks nearby. Good access from site using public transport. Many places to visit, including the walk across countryside to Chelmorton and finishing at the pub for a meal which was superb, but rather on the large side. Would definitely recommend this site if you like superb walks with outstanding scenery. Situated between Buxton and Bakewell makes for easy shopping and a good bus route close by.Would definitely recommend this site.

Fantastic views!

We really enjoyed our three nights here. We choose the pitch furthest in on the right and the neighbours (sheep) were quite inquisitive at times, coming close to the fence to see us.Some great walks from the site, with the Monsale Trail being very close by, as well as some others more off the beaten track. We saw a sign only after we pitched up, asking us to book in at the house next door before selecting a pitch. So we didn’t see the site owners at all. We had to go and search them out to pay our dues on the second day. They ask that you post the money in a named envelope through the door, but we didn’t have one, so had to knock. This is a great site to be based from and I suspect we will be back quite soon.

Fab views, great walking...

Great views from the caravan! We did a couple of walks, one from the site. This was a six miler to Chelmorton where we had a pint in the Church Inn. Landlady had to read the Riot Act to some thirty-somethings who hadn't heard of social-distancing! Only criticism of the site is that the grass hadn't been cut for several weeks, but that view...

Good stop between Buxton and Bakewell

We stayed at this site for 4 nights just before the call not to travel came in, so early March. The site was full on various nights, even with a sixth Motorhome joining for the one night. However I suspect that was just an "en route" stopover in view of the Virus crisis. The photos are slightly misleading insofar as the ground does slope from top to bottom, the top being from the second photo. The last 2 pitches at the bottom are nearly level. 2 water points, a grey disposal area and a decent Elsan, found around the back of the cl past the bottom pitches. We had no problem with EE coverage. Don't use a TV so can't comment on reception. The site is easily accessed, just don't confuse it with a commercial site a bit further up the track. There are some trees behind the site which provide a good shelter from any Westerlies. Lovely views from the site, good dog walking opportunities and there are multiple Footpaths that pass by. Buxton, Bakewell, and Monsal trail are on hand. We didn't see the owner but as we were trying to avoid contact due to the virus it didn't matter. There are instructions on the door of the old house giving you information and informing about prices etc. We posted a cheque through the door. Hope it survives the coming months. Will use it again some day (hopefully).

Nice Site, Recommended

Stayed here Jan/Feb 2020, Lovely site, easy to get to. 6 pitches to choose from some larger than others, all requiring some leveling, however not too bad. There are some aerial points but I didn't use these, 2 seperate water points and a concreted in toilet serves well enough as a chemical waste disposal point. Part of the footpath to the the Monsal trail is quite steep and was tricky following the rain at the end of january, however the trail itself is well worth it. We had to go looking for the owners to pay, some see this as a problem, I don't mind being left alone. I have no problem recommending this site if you are looking for somewhere near Buxton to stay.

Blackwell Hall-Highly Recommended

Just back from a 4 night stay at this lovely site. Perfect location for our first visit to the Peak District, being right between Buxton and Bakewell and walking distance to the Monsal trail. We used this site as a base to explore the wider area (Edale, Kinder Scout area, the Goyt valley and Errwood Hall near the Cheshire border). The owner will supply TV boost cables for pitches 1-4 (on the left as you drive in) but we stayed on the very end pitch and managed to get a signal with no problem at all just using our normal aerial. We had excellent mobile phone signal for both the Three network and Gifgaf. There are fantastic views from all the pitches and they are all spacious. There are drinking water taps at either end of the site and good recycling facilities. You can do several walks straight from the site, so great for dog owners like us. We ate out at The Anglers Rest in Millers Dale, which was 5 minutes drive from the site. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. There was an Aldi, Waitrose and Morrisons (with a garage) in nearby Buxton as well as numerous other shops and restaurants. There was some road noise during the early morning commute hours, but I am a very light sleeper so perhaps others wouldn't notice this. The site was peaceful at other times and quiet at night with dark skies. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this site and would definitely return.
