A nice CL, but spoilt by road noise

We stayed at this site for four nights, with relatives, in 2 units. In general, it was pretty good in terms of facilities, although the WC is NOT 'exclusive use' as detailed - it is shared by the Golf Club, and only open when the Club is open. The site staff are friendly and helpful, especially the owner, Mrs Stokes. From the site we were able to visit places of interest which we would definitely recommend - Crofts Castle and Gardens (NT) at Yarpole, The Weir Gardens (NT), Hereford city (Cathedral including Mappa Mundi & the Chained Library, Black & White House Museum, Cider museum, Waterworks museum), Goodrich Castle (EH) near Ross-on-Wye (also worth a visit). The biggest problem with the site is its proximity to a busy rural road (the other side of the hedge from the camping area), which is used both by locals as a 'rat run' in the morning/evening and many HGVs servicing the commercial area on the old Madley Airfield site. On the third night we were there an HGV, with a refrigerator unit running constantly, was parked by the entrance to the airfield for 5 hours - from 6pm to 11pm. No idea why, and realise that the campsite owners can't control this sort of thing, but it spoilt our evening having dinner with our companions.
