Ease of arrival/welcome

Wouldn't bother again

I booked this in March for a 2 night stopover last weekend, with full payment being taken. We advised that we would be late arriving on a Sunday but we had seen the site when passing through on our narrowboat.  Arriving late afternoon, marina shop was closed, we took ourselves via an awkward gate onto the site to find 5 caravans already there, we being the 6th. There was one EHU bollard with 4 points all in use in the middle and another just over the fence to,the marina moorings with 6 points. But this was at the bottom of a steepish slope and we just managed to site ourselves and access the EHU with 35m of cable. We were NOT impressed.  The marina shop was due to open at 10am on Sunday morning but was still locked by 10:30 when we went out. It was closed on our return later that day and we left before they opened again on the Monday. So in terms of visitor welcome 1 star is too many.  OK it's a nice site but you need long mains cable and emptying the loo is a car trip unless you are strong of arm and leg. Not one to return to for us. And from experience finding a boat mooring is hard work too in this honey pot canal village.
