Perfect

Fantastic CL. Half grass. Half hardstanding. Great pub. Everyone very friendly. Great location for exploring Lancaster and Kirby Lonsdale.

Great Spot

We stayed there last weekend and will certainly be back. Yes, the pitches are a bit small because the grass is out of action most of the time due to the wet weather - well, it is Lancashire! The site is really well kept, as is the pub and gardens. Peter the Landlord is very welcoming as is the rest of his team, and the locals are very friendly too. The food is not gastro, but it is good ingredients cooked well - I enjoyed the best steak in many years. The beer was good too. So, if you don't want to put up an awning and want a pleasant country location with a great pub, you'll be hard pushed to find better.

Mixed Feelings

Having driven past this venue for years we decided to try it out. The welcome we received was excellent from the daughter in law who was behind the bar. Ease of access to the site was made much easier from the north as we are a caravan, motor-homes shouldn't have any difficulty either way. The site is well maintained and as requested we didn't go on the grass. The pitches are a little narrow and our opinion is definitely more motor-home appropriate than a caravan and awnings are pretty much a no no on three of the pitches. We had a meal in the pub and again the greeting by Bernie and the barmaid was excellent and the ale matched, sadly, although tasty and enjoyable, the food was not spectacular. The Sunday clay pigeon shoot was noisy as was the road sometimes but nothing that we would say was OTT. Overall we think the £12 per night is high for this CL as it is really the extended car park which does puddle quite easily in rain that said, it's a long way from been the worst we have been on.

Little Gem

Found this little gem 7 years ago and return several times a year. During this time we have met several members who do the same.  The pub is wonderful olde world and beautiful during the summer months thanks  to Bernie the landlady's greenfingers. The food and beer is really good thanks to Peter the landlord. The site itself is always well maintained and Peter is always looking at ways to improve things. I am not sure when the member who said there was road noise and HGVs going by visited, but in the last 7 years we have never experienced any such thing. However it is to be noted that this is the country and is in the heart of a farming community so there will be the odd tractor going by during the day.  Out of all the CLs we have visited this is definitely our favourite.

Well run site with good pub grub

I can only echo the review of Stephen of Burnley. Please note however, due to that part of the the site is apparently on an old river bed and could be liable to flooding in very heavy weather conditions the owner requires vans to be sited on the hardstanding part but awnings can be erected on to the well manicured grass. The pub boasts of good food which is reasonably priced. Well worth it.

Lovely site , shame about the traffic

The site is easy to find and the Inn provides good meals. As it is situated on a B road we did not expect the constant traffic noise, including a lot of HGV's .and the speed of the traffic made early morning and late night dog walks difficult.

Good, quiet option for country or city

The location is easy to find despite being on a B-road - the pub is a good landmark. And despite being on the road, the traffic is not a problem because there is so little of it and it is traveling quite slowly. Site is as listed and an added bonus is buses to Lancaster and Kirby Lonsdale stop right outside. Tatham is a quiet village, but it is worth crossing the bridge and walking up to the church, which was unlocked when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Nearby Wray and Hornby are interesting large villages with more eating & drinking options and some nice walks.
