If the CL is full then don’t hesitate to stay on the owners’ adjacent sites

Revisited after an absence of a few years. The owners Beryl and John Edwards are constantly upgrading the CL. Since our last visit the CL has been re-contoured resulting larger pitches which are level with the surrounding grass. Checkout the photos on the website. The CL is so popular John was telling me that he wants to do some work on one of the trees and is having to wait until January before the CL will be quiet enough! The CL got so popular that a dozen years ago John and Beryl built Bron Derw Touring Park. We’ve stayed there when there’s no space on the CL. This is the only commercial site I’ve been on which is of the quality of a Club site, indeed it surpasses it. Large level pitches, most with views of the surrounding hills. The Touring Park became so popular that John and Beryl then built on the other side of the CL Parc Derwen which is an adult-only site. Now that too is often fully booked. When we were there October every pitch on all 3 sites was taken! But despite them being full, at night is like a Club site – very quiet. They’re in easy walking distance of Llanrwst and only 5 minutes’ drive from Snowdonia and Gwydyr Forest with its 25 km off-road Marin bike trail and over 100 miles of footpaths. Betws y Coed and Bodnant Garden (the best garden in Britain) are only 10 minutes away. Llandudno and the North Wales coast are only another 10 minutes. The views from the site pitches are better than the CL. We much prefer CLs and avoid commercial sites but have no hesitation in recommending all 3 here.
