Traditional Farm CL

Been to Arnside a long time first time at this CL. In order. Nineteen acre lane is narrow with passing places. Beware. Access to site as described swing out wide it’s a hairpin. Continue through farmyard follow track around to site, again narrow, on site its not level. When we arrived there was one pitch left. The hardstandings have overgrown. Our pitch was sloping but manageable with blocks. Electric to each pitch. Fresh water was next to chemical disposal, but obviously marked. It looked like the cesspit was overflowing into the field and stank. Now the good. Very quiet, dark skies, lots of wildlife. Footpaths from site to anywhere. RSPB reserve Leighton Moss less than a mile away. We saw loads of birds including buzzards and possibly a hobby. Great open views. Yes the area can be busy but we we’re fine. Arnside has a coop etc. Silver dale, is worth visit beware the tides all around. Owner was a bit elusive but we did pay him. I think cattery is closed We chose the route through to Carnforth to leave, much easier. Overall we did like it.
