Heaven

Another great stay at Brundcliffe Farm. One of the best CLs on the network, and easily the best in the Peak District. We instantly relax each time we go. Immaculately kept, big views, loads of walks from the site, adjacent access to the High Peak Trail cycle track, and very friendly owners. A mix of well spaced hard standing and grass pitches, all within a dry stone wall paddock. Some pitches are flat and some sloping, with robust wooden ramps provided. Great countryside location with lots to do in the area. Well away from the main road. Buxton up the road one way, Ashbourne t’other way, and Bakewell to the East. Picturesque village of Hartington down the hill, with fantastic walks down Beresford Dale, Biggin Dale and Wolfscotedale leading to Dovedale. First rate fly fishing in the area, including some day ticket limestone rivers and not far to Carsington reservoir. Jug and Glass pub within walking distance. Lots of good pubs and eateries to choose from, a short drive away - especially at Moneyash, Crowdecote and Alstonefield. Bliss.

We will be back - fabulous site!

We have just spent 7 nights at this fabulous site. Barbara & John could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The pitch we had was on a slope and being relatively new to touring we need not have worried - Barbara got us level and settled in no time & John helped us when we were leaving. This is a working dairy farm and it is beautifully clean and tidy - we loved seeing the cows grazing in the fields surrounding the farm. There are also goats, chickens and sheep and a lovely little farm dog that was very friendly. It was just what we needed - tranquil and stunning views. The Tissington Trail runs right by the site so if you enjoy walking or cycling this is the perfect site. Tissington Village, Thornbridge Hall & Bakewell are all within a short drive and well worth a visit. The ice cream from Tagg Lane Dairy is a must - best ice cream and raw Jersey milk I’ve ever tasted. We will certainly be returning to this site - hopefully for longer next time. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

One of our most favourite places to be

Absolutely beautiful site nestled in a tranquil area of Derbyshire. Ideally located to go off exploring with direct access onto the High Peak Trail which makes for perfect walks for us and our four legged friend. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve visited now but will most certainly continue to return to this gorgeous site. Highly recommend!

First time here & we'll be back 5* Cl

Our first visit to Brundcliffe & we found it to be one of the best Cl's we've stayed on. Lovely well spaced pitches grass & H/S available , easy access off the A515 with with tarmacked drive approach to the site. Owners extremely welcoming & friendly. I'm certain we'll return. Many thanks to Barbara & John for letting us enjoy their wonderful countryside views . Ps the weather was pretty good too.

Perfect for walking & peace

We stayed at this site for six nights in May, we agree with everything the previous reviewers have said, a very well run & quiet site.

Immaculate Site, Amazing Hospitality, More Wonderful Memories

We have just returned from another fantastic one week stay at Brundcliffe Farm. This is the second time we have stayed at this fabulous site and we will definitely be returning (I wish we lived closer so that we could stay more often). On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Barbara and John and their site was again immaculate. Brundcliffe Farm is along side the High Peak Trail which converges with the Tissington Trail a couple of miles away (both being predominantly flat and therefore excellent for Walking and Cycling). Bakewell, Buxton, Hartington and Chatsworth House are only a short drive away and well worth a visit. If you want to eat out there is a list of recommended local pubs on the notice board by the water point (two within walking distance), you won’t be disappointed and it pays to book a table in advance. Thank you again Barbara and John for making our second stay as equally memorable as our first. Stay safe, stay well and we will see you soon, we cannot wait to return.

Good cycling site

We were on the smaller part with just 4 pitches on gravel nice and level no need for chocks the way we pitched that is. You are right next to the High Peak trail and I mean right like in yards away. We also cycled on to the Tissington Trail all the way into Tissington village , what a nice little village that is. Views from our pitch were fantastic with fields full of cows plus a few sheep one who gave birth and we were on hand to help if required as like millions of us we are all experts having watched Countryfile for years LOL. In the end no help required even if the sheep was not keen on the new born at first. The farmer took mother and baby into care for 24 hours and now all sorted and happy. Country life in the real world , fantastic better than TV.

4 night stay

We just had a wonderful 4 night stay at this beautiful site, very nice welcome from Mrs Broadley, showed us to our pitch, which for Derbyshire needed very little levelling! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it anyday.

Fabulous

Just returned from two weeks stay at Brundcliffe, a really lovely, well kept site, Barbara and John are a great couple, totally dedicated to making sure you have the best time on their site. The weather was a bit 'hit & miss' while we were there, but the scenery, walks, cycle rides and places to visit are excellent, plenty to do whatever the weather. Millers Dale is wonderful, a great walk along the old railway track and then back along the river. Carsington Waters too, fabulous. We had pitch no.3, great spot, but all of the pitches are good and well spaced. We definitely intend to return, there's still a lot of cycle trails to ride. Margaret & Ken Coombs

Fantastic CL

I hestitate to tell you what a lovely CL this is as it will only make it more difficult for me to stay here. However I suppose the truth must out. Pretty and way off the main road, yet easily accessible, this is indeed a perfect location. Equidistant between Buxton and Ashbourne the closest you get to traffic is the cycle trail which runs past the site. Barbara and John could not be more welcoming, practical and helpful. Dogs are welcome, but it is a working farm, so you need to respect that, but with miles of foot and cycle paths running from the site, it really isn't hard. If you fancy a change from the Peak Cycle Trail, the Manifold Valley and Monsal Head cycle trails are a short drive, or for the very fit amongst you, ride away.

Lots of places to eat locally. We particularly liked walking to the Jug and Glass where the food is good and reasonably priced. It's less than a mile and apart from the last 50 metres is accessed from the cycle track and a footpath.
