An enjoyable stay by all.

August 2023 We oldies booked for 5 nights stayed for 8, daughter, son-in-law with 4 boys (4>14 in age) stayed for 14 nights. Peter greeted us all and was around if ever we needed him, he's a great font of knowledge of the history of the area which there is plenty. The site is slightly sloping but we had little problem in achieving a level unit and no real issues with a large awaning. Having water and electric on each pitch was brilliant. Wifi can be an issue, no problem with BT mobile reception but Vodafone was only available in the corner of the field by the gate and on pitch 5. Peter was brilliant in guiding us to the various bays and coves, of which there are many. Mum, Dad and grandchildren loved to paddleboard and play in the sandy coves seeing Seals and Dolphins on several occasions, they particularly enjoyed Sea Kayaking in Fishguard Bay and Coasteering. Thanks Peter, we would all definitely stay at this site again.

Beauiful Bryncelyn!

Just spent 12 days here in August and it was as previously described by others..........a beautiful, peaceful oasis. Peter was really welcoming and pitching up was simple (slight slope, not a problem). Having serviced pitches is very welcome and the bin stores & elsan point were well organised on the opposite side of the field. The moor at the back of the site is stunning where hundreds of sheep roam freely and you occasionally encounter a horse & rider. The only downside for us (having a dog who likes to run round with any other 4 legged animal!) is that sheep are absolutely everywhere so it limited the freedom to walk the dog off lead as she's used to. However, Peter did inform us of a couple of woods close by where we were able to walk 'sheep free' - and of course the beaches. Newport sands & Poppit sands (just west of Cardigan) were our preferred beaches simply because they are very dog friendly......good little cafes at both too.......& even though it was the height of the summer holidays, neither beach ever felt packed. There's a couple of lovely walks along the estuary ending up at Newport sands on one side and the Parog in Newport on the other side. Some may be interested in visiting 'Ffaldybrenin' in the Gwaum valley which is a stunning Christian retreat centre 6 miles away - as day visitors you can spend the day and roam the grounds in total peace and quiet or spend time in the chapel and a day room - for a suggested donation of £10.All you can hear are the birds, insects.....no passing traffic.....bliss. Just a note....If you're on Sky mobile, you've got no chance at a signal unless you drive down to the petrol station/stores on the main road or walk/drive up onto the hills - this was a bit frustrating as we couldn't pay by phone to park initially - we then worked out to pay ahead when we got the car park ID and a 4G signal en route! So you can't rely on internet to easily find out about places to go etc.....But then there's Peter! :) We loved our stay there and now we know the area a bit better, we will certainly return.....all in all 10/10 for Bryncelyn!

What a gem!

We had a week here in May 2023, and loved the site and its location; it's well placed for enjoying the coastal scenery/walks and beaches, as well as the Preseli Hills and also local ancient woodlands (Pengelli, Pentre Ifan and Tycanol). Not to mention the large number of local prehistoric monuments and cairns, one of which is situated not far from the gate onto the moors from the site! We particularly enjoyed a walk along part of the ridge of the hills to visit the site of where the Stonehenge stones came from, being from Wiltshire. We didn't walk from the site though for this, although you can if you're keen - it adds on several miles. We also enjoyed morning and evening strolls across the moorland straight from the site, that's a real plus, and I enjoyed sitting with my chair and a cuppa the other side of the gate on the common ground and looking at the hills after our days out. The site itself is peaceful, yes there is a bit of road noise, but it's not obtrusive, being surrounded by trees. We loved the birdsong, and could even hear Cuckoos in the trees behind us by the moor, that was a first! You also get a glimpse of the hills opposite the road above the trees from the pitches, which was nice. You will need ramps or levelling blocks as the pitches are on a bit of a slope (front to back), but having a water tap for each pitch was a bonus. It just meant our full sized air awning didn't go up well, but it's a small price to pay for such a lovely setting. Access to the site (arriving and leaving) is not a problem - just arrive from the Cardigan direction as everyone else has said (we have typical 7.2m van). There are several places where the approach road goes to single lane, but the visibility is good and it's really not a problem, just be aware if you've not been here before. The friendly welcome and local knowledge from Peter is great too. If you like peaceful sites with a variety of places to visit nearby - hills, moorland, coastal, beach and woodland, then this is the site for you, we would thoroughly recommend it. Will we be coming here again? Definitely, yes!

What a wonderful hidden gem of a CL.

We stayed for week in June this year. Great site with water and electric at each pitch. Bit sloping so you will need levelling blocks. Do follow the directions in the Club Book though. We approached from the opposite direction as we had been somewhere else on route, you can't turn in from that direction. Luckily we were able to find a large field gateway to back into and turn about a half a mile down the road. With a gate from the site directly out onto the Preseli Mountains the dog loved it. Fabulous walks and views. Lots to see and do in the area. We found a fam shop in the mountains that made and sold their own cheeses. Very basic shop but we were encouraged to try all of the cheeses they made. Beautiful flavours. We bought some for ourselves and some to bring home to family but that never made it home! The two quarries that the Blue Stones at Stonehenge came from are nearby. One is about a 3 mile walk from the site across the mountains (Carn Goedog) and can be seen from just out the back of the site, you do need to be an experienced hill walker and have the right kit to visit that one and the other is a few miles down the road and is easily accessible at Craig Rhosyfelin. Coast is not far away with great cliff walks and views.

Best CL we have stayed on!

As we arrived Peter made us feel very welcome and kept us smiling every time we saw him during our stay. We loved our pitch and the added bonus was having water that we could plumb straight in to our caravan. The gate way from the field to the moors and Preseli Mountains was another bonus. One of our interests is visiting stone circles, burial chambers and standing stones. There are so many to visit withing a short drive from the site. The weather was exceptional good whilst there and we swan at 5 amazing beach locations all close by. We have stayed at many CL's and Bryncelyn has gone to the top of our favourites. We will definitely be returning.

what a little gem.

Stayed at Bryncelyn for 14 nights with our 2 JRT dogs. Pitch 1 was superb, with all pitches now having a water tap. The field itself is slightly sloping which necessitates raising the jockey wheel ( or the front of your motorhome) quite a bit. As we use a full sized awning i didn't level our caravan enough causing our shower tray some drainage issues: entirely my fault for rushing the setting up activities. The B road passing the site wasn't itself intrusive but the council were resurfacing it which did generate a little noise, one morning at 6am...! Again, shouldn't normally be a problem. The lack of shower and toilet facilities didnt bother us at all as we tend to use our own out of choice anyway. As mentioned elsewhere, dog walking is excellent direct from the site. We also found a fabulous community-run pub about 4 miles drive over the moors (which is worth the drive itself for the far-reaching views) the Tarfarn Sinc. Superb pub grub, very quirky and extremely reasonable pricing. Some of the best thick cut bacon we've sampled was available from the Butcher in Newport. We spent many a happy sunny day on Newport Sands, dog-friendly and free parking direct on the sand. Another beach we enjoyed was Poppet Sands, just west of Cardigan. Cardigan itself boast a great high street with many shops including an Aldi and a large Tesco. A little nearer Bryncelyn campsite are a petrol station and a country store for essentials. The owners were away whilst we stayed so there was nobody present when we arrived. We had been informed about this in advance and we were met after a few nights by their son-in-law who was very accommodating. In summary: great peaceful little site, easy local road and site access (make sure you access while heading SW through Crosswell and not NE through Greenway if you're towing). Be prepared to use ramps or chocks Be prepared to use your own No wifi No mobile signal (Vodafone) We loved it......

Would have gladly stayed for the 28 days!

Can't fault this site. A big friendly welcome from the owners Peter and Barbara who were very helpful and lent us an extension for the electric hookup. Water to each of the pitches saves the morning trips we usually have to make. A beautiful setting and well thought out, including food recycling buckets for each pitch and wooden picnic tables. The site is best approached from the Cardigan direction to avoid a sharp turn. Lots of lovely beaches, picturesque villages and countryside walks. Highly recommended.

Spectacular surprise

What a remarkable backdrop to this lovely site. Easy to access, pleasant field, a little road noise but nothing major. But wow, go through the gate to site rear and you are faced with the most remarkable an unexpected scene. Feels like walking into nother kingdom. Suffice to say, if you love walking this is a must. Food Farm shop a little way up the road, adjacent to garage will suffice for main supplies. Half hour to coast and everything this spectacular coast line has to offer. The mot friendly and helpful site owner. If self contained, it's great. £15 with ehu

Very peaceful saty

Stayed here for 5 days in June and had a great time, thank you to Peter who was a brilliant host with a lovely site. Excellently positioned for touring West Wales with beautiful views - we shared the field with birds and bats, through the field gate lies a walking area that goes on and on forever. Lots of freedom for our little dog so she also had a magical time. What more could you want for a relaxing stay.

Friendly, beautiful, scenic and well kept facilities, a little gem.

We have just spent 4 lovely nights here. What a great site. Peter the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The site is beautifully kept and has fantastic access through a gate on the site, to the most wonderful peaceful walks and hills. The site is next to a main road and can be a little busy at times but it wasn't too bad and it certainly wouldn't stop me going back so don't be put off by it. Great places to cycle although you may need electric bikes as it is very hilly. Thank you Peter.
