Ease of arrival/welcome

Our favourite site so far

This is a charming, peaceful site in lovely surroundings. Bob and Mandy were both very friendly and welcoming. It was good to have our own little area with our own water supply. There were only five vans on the site - we have stayed on CLs where more have been allowed - and plenty of room between pitches. There is a lovely little shed with lots of maps, information and brochures, and books and dvds to borrow. We enjoyed watching the sheep in the next field and were entranced one evening to watch a barn owl flying in the next field. Best of all was the dog ban. It is not easy to find CLs (or indeed any sites) that ban dogs - the vast majority of all sites welcome dogs and we strive to find a site we can stay on without the intrusive noise and mess of dogs. Even when people are asked to keep their dogs under control, half of them don't, so it was extra relaxing that we didn't have to keep a constant look out to ensure we weren't going to be bothered. We will be back!
