Just passing through - 1 night's stay. Didn't get to Access the local area this time.

Very welcoming and obliging host. As there had been a great deal of rain and we were the only visitors we were kindly advised to park on the hardstanding drive. From previous experience we know we get stuck! Super clean and grass cut and cleared. Very spacious pitches. Lovely walk for the dog just down the lane towards the golf course. On the way back up, passing a barn I was lucky enough to see a lamb born :-) We too hope to visit again for a longer time so we can explore the local area. Thank you Mr Lill.

Wonderfully Tranquil - Gorgeous Views and SHEEP!

Stayed one night before Clubfest and from the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and friendly. The owner explained the facilities - water, rubbish, disposal - and then let us get on with our stay. Hook up was easy and although the site was full, didn’t feel at all crowded as the pitches are well spaced. Probably better for adults than families - there would be nothing for the kids to do. There are sheep adjoining the field and we enjoyed watching a lad go to feed the rams and then the sheep. It was very endearing to see the lovely relationship he had with the rams, giving them a back scratch and shoulder rub! One of the lambs had gone lame and it was hilarious watching him herding it so he could catch it and have a look. We don’t have a TV in our outfit and it’s lovely to just look out at life happening. Would definitely come here again - one of the nicest we’ve stayed at.

Great stopover - one for the list!

We stopped here for the night going from Essex to Liverpool. A really nice welcome from the owner, great sized pitches, and beautifully maintained. Peaceful site We would definitely stay here again.

Nice countryside site

We've stayed here a couple of times. Warm welcome from owner, and we love how spaced apart the large pitches are and the freedom to orientate your van how you like within your pitch 'area'. Adjacent to country road which wasn't a problem as it isn't busy at all, and sheep grazing on the other side of the site. There is a cellphone mast at the corner of the site which I know some people won't like, and it is a working farm so on our first visit there was noise all afternoon from industrial lawnmower, leafblower, tractor etc. but it was much quieter the second visit and always quiet at night. The surrounding pretty area and villages have lots of walks - we did a lovely walk from Welford wharf along the canal, and another one from Yelvertoft along the canal there and up to Cracks Hill. We tried the Red Lion in Thornby for supper which is a nice old pub with a good menu, although be careful with gluten free as our waiter slipped up and brought me normal food as he forgot I had asked for gluten free. A nice site and we will plan to go back again.

This site is a gem

Bunkers Hill Farm CL is a spacious site with plenty of distance between caravans in these Covid-conscious days. Water and waste disposal points have hand sanitiser. Access is easy. A very friendly welcome from Mr Lill and simple arrival process. The field is level and grass is kept in very good condition – the whole site is clean and tidy. Electric points are available for each pitch. There is very good water pressure. TV reception is excellent, mobile signal (O2) also good. There is no WiFi. Mr Lill is a friendly host and has plenty of local knowledge. He has a small collection of paperback books for sale (50p), also jars of home-made marmalade at a bargain £1.50. The Golf club at the end of the road offers a cooked breakfast available allday! We visited two pubs within a short drive – the Pytchley Arms which was outstanding and the Wharf Inn at Welford which was average, but is adjacent to the Grand Union Canal where one can walk along the towpath. The Red Lion has a good reputation, according to previous visitors. Thank you Mr.Lill – 3 days wasn’t long enough - your CL is one we hope to return to.

11 days, loved them all.

We went here for the first time, taking care of our 3 grand daughters for the first time while the parents went to work, they also had there caravan on site the whole time. Arrived and the weather was pouring with rain and gale force winds but from the next day the sun shone the whole time, the site was very nice with plenty of room and all the other caravanners very friendly. A short walk down the lane led to the village park and cricket ground but sadly no shop, A 4 Mile drive to Welford was needed for food and petrol. The girls played with the farmers boys and had a really great time making life much easier for us, asking to go to the park every day. As soon as we left they were asking when they could go back, this is girls who are normally on there phone and tablets, it was smashing to see them on the bikes and scooters. Thanks for a wonderful time and I'm sure we will be returning.

Lovely and quiet

A very well kept site close to the A14 and M1 so good for visiting family. The site is spacious, overlooking fields and we loved watching the lambs frolick. It was only a 5 minute drive to an excellent pub, The Red Lion in next village of Thornby, which we can recommend plus coffee and cake in the World Peace Cafe, also in Thornby. We can also recommend the home made marmalade, which can be bought in the local church. We received a warm welcome and met some caravanners who return here regularly. We can see why and will also be returning, especially as the site is convenient for catching up with family.
