Peaceful Bank Holiday weekend

We first found this site (although without the caravan on that occasion) and vowed to put this site on our ‘must stay’ list and this we have done this bank holiday weekend. Andrea was very swift to reply to my email questions re availability and made it simple to book. The site is very easy to reach just off the A144 which itself is off the A12. The lane to the farm must be one of the most picturesque in Suffolk with plenty of places to pass oncoming vehicles although this is a very quiet lane so unlikely to meet anyone else. Access to the site is very good with no sharp turns or steep gradients. The grass is very short and neat and the views over the rolling Suffolk countryside are wonderful. There is a small grass meadow beside the site with a handful of sheep and some young cattle which were lovely to see. The owners are extremely helpful and welcoming and live across their small meadow from the site with their young family. Water and loo emptying point is easy to use and grey water is allowed to be disposed of around the numerous trees around the site so easy facilities to use. There are 5 x power points and the ground is very slightly sloping but not such that it will cause any issues at all. The site is extremely peaceful although is ideally situated for Aldeburgh/Southwold/Minsmere/Walberswick/Dunwich and the local market town of Halesworth is only 5 minutes drive where all amenities can be found. We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the White Horse, Badingham which was about 15 minutes away but well worth the drive. Another benefit of this very well kept site is the 2 x barn conversions and the 2 x Shepherd Huts which would be ideal for non caravanning friends or family all very new and with stunning views and plenty of space. We will definitely be returning here.

Recent stay over Easter ...

Just had 10 nights at this delightful and peaceful site. Close to beaches and glorious pretty villages. The owners are very helpful and keep the site immaculate. The club book states it's a sloping site but the very slight slope it has you wouldn't notice so don't be put off by that. Excellent walks from the site would delight you as they are all from the site around adjoining farms with maps to guide you along....... great for dog owners. Will definitely stay again. A&CT

our last visit of the year

the forecast was good so we wrote a quick email to book in and spent a blissful few days here - mainly to use the lovely weather as an opportunity to give the van a good clean before going into storage for the winter - its the perfect place to do this. Still disappointed that there are so few reviews - we have been twice this year when we have been one of five - and everyone we spoke to rated it very highly - so why not post a review so we can all benefit from the information. Anyway, easy access, amazing views, well kept field, friendly family, smashing walks, wonderful access to the coastline and Halesworth with it's Co op and lovely independent shops is virtually on your doorstep for all the essentials.

Here we are again . . .

another return visit to Bunkers Hill - we are so lucky living not too far away so its a quick getaway for us for a few nights' of total peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. The O'Connor family are all very friendly and welcoming and totally laid back - no regimented pitch markers in sight! The grass is well mown (and collected), the service area is clean and well kept, the access road is wide and easy - everything you want from a good CL. We always read reviews when deciding where to stay and are slightly surprised that more people don't write reviews. Are you all worried that it will get too popular and you won't get a pitch? This seems a little unfair on the owners who are after all trying to run a business. So come on fellow club members, please share the good, the bad and the downright ugly so we can all benefit.

We said it was good

We stayed here in May and said it was a very nice site and we would return. Well we have returned and have enjoyed another five great days. The welcome is warm and in- intrusive. Our Greyhound loves the walks direct from the site and we enjoy the great view and the peace & quite. One day we counted 3 cars going past the site for the whole day yes that is a standard busy day. Don't worry about the "slope" it only needs a wheel or a couple of front/back steady blocks. Well worth a visit.

We loved it here and so did our owners.

As usual our owners found us a great site for walkies. Plenty of room on site for each caravan and good access onto the many public footpaths in the area. Nice friendly people on site make for a happy stay and we certainly had that. Plenty of nice places to go to for a ride out in the car which we also love to do. We are planning to get them to bring us back here next year as we didn't get to do all the things we wanted to. Anna and Arri, two very happy dogs.

Blissful Bunkers Hill

A superb CL in every way - spacious, part sloping (yes you do need levelling blocks), lawned, quiet, superb views. Friendly owners, excellent value for money. Follow the directions and keep a keen eye out for the Bunkers Hill Farm sign because would hate to miss it and have to go further along the single track road - but entrance is wide and easy to access. Facilities provided (water, electricity, chemical emptying) all good. One of the best CLs we have ever stayed on for dog walking and a walking route map is very kindly provided. One of the best CLs we have ever stayed on for everything else too. Very easy access either to the coast or countryside - from here it's easy to get to Southwold, Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Walberswick or go down towards the A1120 Tourist Route for Framlingham Castle and the other delightful villages along that road. We highly recommend fish & chips at Southwold Harbour (but not in town!) and the White Horse pub at Badingham.

Doggy/Walking Paradise

Just returned from a week's stay at Bunkers Hill Park. This is a beautifully kept site with very friendly no fuss owners. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. The site benefits from views across open countryside and if you are lucky you will see the deer grazing in the evenings. There is an abundance of lovely birds to watch but most of all for us, the fact that we could safely walk our 2 Springers off lead once in the field behind the site which ajoins open farm land with footpaths everywhere - bliss. Thank you Andrea, John and family for a very enjoyable first visit. We will be back. Bob and Shirley Ellis (Annie and Bluebell - woof woof). Motorhomers from East Sussex.
