Our favourite CL
We’ve just returned from another fabulous week on this beautiful CL. This CL has definitely become our favourite. It’s so peaceful, there’s absolutely no road noise, no sirens, nothing except birdsong, a horse whinnying and a whisper from the trees. You don’t get anything more restful and tranquil as Burnham Wick Farm. There are several walks from the site, across the beautiful farmland. You will see many different types of birds, a fox, hares or even a deer. Adrienne has very thoughtfully been around the farm walks and labelled the trees, which is such a lovely touch. There are several pets to get to know, including three pigs, some very cheeky free range goats and some rare breed sheep. Oh and horses! There are horses all around the camping field, which provide entertainment in the evening as they play together and have a gallop around the fields. You can walk into Burnham alongside the river, it’s a wonderful walk. There are several places to get coffee and sit and watch the sailing boats. Walk a bit further and you’ll be charmed by the array of pretty houseboats moored along the quay. If you’re into BBQs then visit the Secret Butcher for your meat. The marsh lamb is exceptionally good as are the Sirloin steaks and the Burnham bangers. We will definitely be back to Burnham Wick Farm CL, very soon. Thank you Adrienne and Martin.
Sunny, peaceful and open views
Easy to find the site and pitches are very clearly marked with the option of full sun or shade depending on the side you pitch. Owner is very friendly and helpful and there is a well stocked cabin full of local information. You are surrounded by meadows which will contain horses at some point to watch and listen too. Easy to walk into Burnham with plenty of facilities and a large supermarket and train station. Some great walks along the river and we would recommend taking the train to North Fambridge and then walking back. Another site to visit again.
Peaceful and relaxing
A lovely site where you can recharge your batteries. Peaceful setting, well kept, plenty of space, close to the crouch, lovely walks. Somewhere you want to return to again and again. Adrienne, welcoming but also respects your privacy, a well balanced site. Not far from some fab cafes, parks, also near to other points of interest, Maldon to name one. Definitely recommend
An exciting stay
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Burnham Wick Farm. The site is everything that other folk mention and more - a wide open vista, huge skies, a wide river estuary and an abundance of wildlife. Within minutes of arrival any hassles just fly away leaving one feeling so relaxed.
There is a real commitment to conservation here and so much easy to understand information available both in the welcoming new summer house and on discretely placed noticeboards around the farm. This fosters a real appreciation of the ongoing projects. There are paths galore and so much to discover that we only left the farm very briefly to walk to Burnham.
Thank you Adrienne for the welcome. You have a site to be proud of.
PS If you choose to stay on tis site, don't forget your binoculars!
PPS Plenty of caches along the sea wall if geocaching is one of your hobbies.

Wonderful stay
A tranquil site, well looked after. Stayed for 3 nights but wished I could have stayed for longer. There are horses in the field opposite and a friendly pheasant that visits. The walks are great and the town is easily accessible with plenty of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. The owner is really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return as soon as I am able, absolutely loved this site.
Another great stay⁸

Eastern Reaches
Well worth the effort for us, travelling from the SW. We haven't visited this area before. We had a lovely time exploring the Dengie Peninsula, seeing some attractive villlages and enjoying this lovely farm site and the local walks. St Peters on the Wall was one of our interesting days out. The best of both worlds here, with the estuary, farm land and town all within easy walking reach. Such an interesting place, watching the horses and hares from our van window. Friendly and informative owners made the stay quite special. Many thanks Adrienne!
The best we have stopped on.
The site is in a beautiful location with the most friendly manager that couldn't be more helpful.
Very dog friendly with plenty of lovely country walks.
Ideal walk into town on sea front with pubs and restaurants.
There is loads of wild life such has foxes and deer.
Why is this such a popular CL?
Why is this such a popular CL?
Could it be that the owners care about their visitors and the quality of your stay, or that they really care about the environment on the farm, or is it the Countryside walks, the riverside walks or the views across the estuary?
Go and visit the Llama and the Pot bellied pigs (and they will be your bestest friends ever, well until your fruit & veg peelings run out.)
Perhaps it could be the open views from your caravan, one side is protected by trees, or the sun rises, or the dark night sky where on a clear night you can view the Milky Way and watch meteorites.
We did all the above in October.
Thank you Adrianne
