Quiet and peaceful

This is a good value CL in an area which we enjoyed visiting. We stayed at the beginning of April in a period of heavy rain. The site was very wet, not helped as the grass was over long. With a little more TLC, the site would be great. We enjoyed our stay, though, and would return.

Nice for the price

A couple of points of verifictaion made in previous reviews. 1. Follow the instructions for the route given, ingnore your satnav. Our satnav wanted to do every route but the right one, so glad we follwed the instructions. 2. grass not mown and long(ish), as per previous review it was dry and not a problem. 3. There is a little road noise from the road behind the site which you approach on, however it is only noticable in bed. We didn't notice otherwise, note, it goes very quiet at night and is not particularly intrustive as it is a very quiet lane. Note, the birdsong drowns it out. 4. plenty of things to do nearby, but you know that if you're reading this! Other points 5. We only saw the owners 2 minutes in the whole 8 days when we went to pay- that suits us, but I often hear people critice this - I'd say I'd like more sites like this. 5. There is an access track down the bulk of the sites which won't tear up, but a little bumpy as you travel down the site - probably useful in wet - could do with a little hardcore to make smoother - but that is being picky. 6. views are good from most pitches (we were in the first one, which is a little more restricted, but a little more sheltered - we were restricted by site being full) - which is another good point. 7. good recycling facilities, but with a full site, they were overflowing at end of week - probably not a problem if quiet. 8. Although site appears flat in pictures, there are humps and bumps all over, bring your blocks to make the best of your pitch. we always take ours so again not a problem Finally at the price this is an excellent choice, I would suggest that with a very little work the site could be improved to a very high standard. Would I use again - definitely

Lovely Site, everything we needed

Stayed for 3 nights last week of July. Nice peaceful site, needed to ask at the industrial unit at the farm on arrival but they were very helpful & when I did speak to the owner we were given the tourist pack with lots of information & useful map. We didn’t need EHU but we plugged in anyway as it was included in the fee. Very spacious site, not mown grass but as it’s so dry at the moment that was fine. Lovely cycling roads & close to Ludlow, definitely recommend the brewery, lovely old buildings, typical middle England. If you haven’t been to Ludlow I would add it to your list for a quiet few days.

A Lovely CL

We stayed at this site in July 2018. All you might want from a CL It is a generous sized, based around an old orchard. Plenty of places to pitch. Sunny while we were there though there are trees for shade if you want. Nice and quiet. Helpful and friendly owners. Lots to see and do in this area and a pleasant walk from the site itself across the owners fields. We will return next time in the area.

Great value site.

We stayed here for 7 nights and found it to be a great site. The paddock is large enough to allow plenty of room between each unit. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and there is little or no noise from the farm and associated business. The views from the site are very good and it is convenient for trips to Tenbury Wells, Leominster as well as Ludlow. For the price it is hard to beat. Will we return? I sincerely hope so.

Owner very welcoming and offered Tourist info. CL set in small ancient orchard with fantastic views, although they couldn't be seen in some places as the hedge needed cutting! Only approach from directions given in book, as impossible from the other way. There are noisy non-farming occupations carried out on the premises which is very intrusive (during day time) Ludlow is impressive (use the park and ride as easier than finding a car parking space unless you go in early) Recommend visiting Church Stretton - lovely little town. Shropshire has wonderful countryside!! Enjoy!

Great value CL

If peace and quiet are what you are looking for with great value for money, this CL is for you. The CL can get a little wet under foot, but a decent 4X4 will soon get you in and out, the farmer will drag you out with his tractor if you can't manage it.  We found great meals at the Salwey Arms down the road and there are NT properties close by. Ludlow is a town that seems to have changed a lot, personally I think not for the better.

Ludlow weekend.

Just returned from a weekend break in Ludlow. The reason for the trip to South Shropshire was for an Old Boys School reunion. AKA perfect excuss to spend a weekend in this beautiful part of the county. We discovered however that by coincidence, the reunion clashed with the Ludlow Spring Festival. and we found that a number of sites in the immediate Ludlow area were booked up. Preferring the CL sites if possible we cast the net a little wide and found this lovely site nr Ashford Carbonel approx 2 miles south of Ludlow. It was perfect. Set in a small and ancient orchard. The site is blissfully tranquil with views towards the west and the hills and forests above Ludlow. It is well maintained and has everything a CL needs. The owner was very welcoming and was willing to help with tourist info etc. Acces to Ludlow is easy but we choose to use the park and ride because of the crowds visting the festival. This was also very good with demos by a local Michelin starred Chef and others + a beer, cider and perry festival. Will definately use this site again - thoroughly recommended.
