Ludlow weekend.
Just returned from a weekend break in Ludlow. The reason for the trip to South Shropshire was for an Old Boys School reunion. AKA perfect excuss to spend a weekend in this beautiful part of the county. We discovered however that by coincidence, the reunion clashed with the Ludlow Spring Festival. and we found that a number of sites in the immediate Ludlow area were booked up. Preferring the CL sites if possible we cast the net a little wide and found this lovely site nr Ashford Carbonel approx 2 miles south of Ludlow. It was perfect. Set in a small and ancient orchard. The site is blissfully tranquil with views towards the west and the hills and forests above Ludlow. It is well maintained and has everything a CL needs. The owner was very welcoming and was willing to help with tourist info etc. Acces to Ludlow is easy but we choose to use the park and ride because of the crowds visting the festival. This was also very good with demos by a local Michelin starred Chef and others + a beer, cider and perry festival. Will definately use this site again - thoroughly recommended.
