Dog or no dog that is the question.

Visited this site in August, dogs welcome on this site? We arrived, set up and were visited by owner who took our money. Walking around the site there is a sign which says ‘ no dogs’. Didn’t see the owner again in the 4 days of our stay, not secure and direct access on to main road. Facilities are basic, chemical toilet very poor access, pricey compared to facilities on other cl.

Beautiful, Peaceful stay

We have just stayed for the May bank holiday on this lovely peaceful site. It is very easy to find from the road and easy to follow using the sat nav. Only having 4 other caravans on site made it lovely and quite. They are very welcoming of pets and children. Our aim was to visit the Llandudno Transport Festival, which was attainable with a 20 minute journey taking you right to the field. We would definitely stay on this site again, there is a pub at the end on the road which looks a very welcoming place that also accept dogs (Although we didn't visit here). The price of the site is affordable for the facilities.

Good site but comes with a smell!

We stayed on this site for four nights. It is a lovely setting in a walled garden with views of the mountains. For motor homers there is a bus every 2 hours from outside the site which goes to Llandudno and Conwy one way and Betsw-y-Coed the other. We also visited Bodnant Gardens which is just down the road. We were not troubled by barking dogs as was a previous reviewer but we have to agree there is a smell! At first it appeared to be just a typical farm aroma which would not bother us but then the wind changed direction and it was very strong and unpleasant.

noisy dogs

a small well kept area, spoilt by the horrid smell from the adjacent field, really offputting whilst eating. the constant barking of the dogs in the farm is really annoying, theres no gate on the entrance, hence no form of security. also be aware of the farm traffic, and the speed at which they travel through the site,(fast). no where in the immediate are to buy provisions, or to eat.and the local pub is closed. for a weekend though, the price is fair.

Good site, but...

This is potentially a great site in a lovely area - large hardstanding pitches in a former walled garden, hook-up and TV booster (a nice addition), at a reasonable fee. But barking farm dogs in an adjacent building was an irritant, especially during the night and at 6am! The owner also needs to put as much effort into cutting the grass and emptying the over-flowing bin as he did in collecting the money...

Pros & Cons

The CL has 5 generously sized pitches with shale-like hard standing. Accessibility is straightforward with the B5106 adjacent. EHU and water are available. The bus stop is at the site entrance with the No. 19 Arriva giving easy access to Llandudno or Betws-y-Coed. This CL is idealy placed to explore the delights of this part of North Wales - Portmeirion is a must. Pity about the barking dog!

Pleasant cl with easy access to local places of interest

We stayed at this site last weekend and have to say that we had a lovely stay. The site has plenty of room, was well cared for and was just what we were looking for. Ideal base to explore Conwy,Llandudno and we even went to Porthmadog from here, which was a lovely scenic drive. We went to have a look around the owners other site, however other than being close to a pub, we actually preferred this site. The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant and we will definitely be visiting again. The only downside was the lack of recycling facilities.

Could be so much better

Although the location is excellent for exploring the area which is well worth visiting the site itself was disappointing. Set in a walled garden the pitches are level and large enough but the surroundings are very neglected. The grass needed cutting and there were high nettles around the water taps and the chemical loo disposal. The feature in the centre was full of big weeds and could look so attractive with some colourful flowers or shrubs. The walls were unkempt and falling down in places. The site has so much potential that it is a shame it is so neglected. The owner said he would not take cheques and no receipt was offered for cash. We had to be off the site before noon on the day of departure unless we paid for another night. There was a bin provided for kitchen rubbish but no recycling bins or boxes. Instead a sign on the wall told clients to take their recyclables to a nearby pub or supermarket. As the site was £12 a night we felt that some of the amenities were sadly lacking and we had a strong feeling that money was the only thing the owner was really interested in.
