Beautiful site

This was a really lovely site. The views are spectacular and the surrounding area just lovely. Everything is well placed and easy to find. There is a bit of a slope to reverse your vehicle into, but we have motor movers so it was ok! It’s a really nice bike ride along the canal to Brecon, and there is so much to do in the area. We would definitely come again

A Superb Certified Location

Booking for this site was really simple. Arrived and pitched up on the vacant space. All pitches were very roomy we would have been happy to have any of them. The facilities were excellent and very clean. The views from the site are awesome. It was very interesting to watch the comings and goings in the marina. At night for us this was the most tranquil site we have stayed on. Direct access onto the canal and we walked on different days to Brecon, Pencelli and Talybont on Usk. Thoroughly recommend this site to others.

Peaceful with lovely views

This site is so much nicer than the pictures on line. Set up above the marina and with long views across the hills. The pitches are very roomy and there is one hard standing. Water is right near pitches. The waste is a little way to walk near the other buildings. There are toilets and showers and a disabled one too. The marina does not disturb you, but you can see boats come and go and also those passing on the canal. The canal tow path is at the bottom of the site across a bridge. Brecon is just 4 miles up the towpath with an Aldi and Morrisons for shopping. There's a good cafe in the canal basin and plenty more in the town. Cycling up is very easy. In the other direction you can go to Talybont and the resovoir. There are pubs and a cafe canalside. You can join the Taff Trail here. I am on a mobility scooter and the canal path is good until you get to the tunnel past Talybont. The route over has a very narrow deep track, good for bikes and walking but not my scooter. We stayed 4 nights and didn't take the car out at all. The canal is really beautiful and the path is sheltered by trees most of the time. We enjoyed two really good "moon rises" over the hills. Peace is what you get here, and a friendly team.

Idyllic Site

Stayed here for one night 13th May, absolutely beautiful site, pristine and the most wonderful views over the marina and Monmouth/Brecon canal. The only sound interrupting the peace was of the hundreds of swifts swooping across the site. Just stunning and would highly recommend. £25 per night with EHU.

Cambrian Cruisers CL - A tranquil site

This is our second visit to Cambrian Cruiser CL this year. This CL is just off the A40 a couple of miles SE of Brecon. The CL is in a lovely location within Cumbrian Cruiser's marina, right alongside the Monmouth - Brecon canal. Access is good and the Sat Nav brought us directly to the CL. This is quite a small CL and the ground is sloping and a little rough. There is one hard standing. This is a full facility’s site with modern, well kept facilities. I don’t believe the EHU is 16 amp, I think it’s probably no more than 10am. Recycling and waste areas are well kept. The boatyard folk are friendly and informative. We took advantage of the tow paths, walking in both directions. One evening we walked to the Royal Oak at Pencilli for good pub food and some excellent beers. We used Morrisons shop and petrol station (separate sites). This CL is not cheap at £22/night No WiFi available, phone signal EE very good. Can’t comment on tv signal

Best CL I’ve stayed at!!

Absolute gem!! Generously sized pitches overlooking canal with views of valley. Added bonus of toilets and showers that most CL don’t have.

Great CL

We have just returned from staying 6 days on this CL. It is in a lovely quiet location overlooking the marina with glorious views of the hills all around. The arrival is very easy along the marina driveway. We didn't use the showers or toilets but we did see that they were spotlessly clean. There is plenty of space between pitches which are a good size. The grass was kept short & it is a lovely place to sit & watch the canal boats passing by & the many Red Kites we saw hovering low over head. The walks along the canal in both directions were lovely & nice easy walking. It is a great base for exploring the Brecon hills & many reservoirs in the area.

Our new best CL

We normally use CLs for short breaks and Club Sites for our main holidays. But we find Club Sites a little like car parks and often views are obscured by trees or fencing etc. So we decided to split our summer break 21 into two parts. A week at this lovely CL and then a week at a club site. FANTASTIC! Lovely views of the valley and the marina/canal. Always comings and goings of the boat folk or the numerous visitors to the holiday lets. Pitches are huge! Loads of room with only a minimal slope down towards the water. Fresh water is right in front of you and the Elsan point is as good as any club site - very clean and modern design. Toilet and showers are better than any CL ive used, very modern and clean and well lit. Local area is amazing and the added bonus of canal walks for the dog was superb. We walked into Brecon which is a fair distance, but well worth it. Access to the Black Mountains and the National Park was our primary reason for staying. EHU was 16Amp and we had 4G signal on O2 and Vodafone. TV signal was not an issue.

Great CL, easy living

Loved our stay at this CL. It's a pretty cosy site in terms of space but has a very relaxed and respectful vibe. You're very much left alone to pitch up and enjoy. Lovely watching the narrow boats & come and go and the bonus of being able to get straight onto the tow path is the icing on the cake. We spent a fabulous day on gravel bikes on the tow path & there's a pub with a beer garden about a 20 min walk away. Hook ups, fresh water tap a few meters away, spotless showers and toilets if you want them and well tended pitches makes this an easy choice for a few days of easy campervan living. Would have no hesitation in recommending or returning (if you can get a pitch...they get pretty booked up!).
