All Good

It's an "all good" basic CL, just as they should be, with plenty of space and the added bonus of being Adult Only. No footballs flying round, no feral children to spoil the peace. Well enclosed with mature trees all round, shelter, but no distant views. More owls hooting in the twilight than I can remember hearing for a very long time. Well located for Lincoln, Gainsborough, etc. Buses from Saxliby.

Bank Holiday Stop - Last Minute Getaway

With only living 35 miles away on Louth, fancied a local stopover with the dog for Bank Holiday. Arrived on site at 7pm to find one member on site with similar set up to us, owner soon came out to help us with our choice of pitch. chose one in shade near owners garage/information hut. Due to recent wet weather kept car off road and used motor mover. Quick visit into Saxibly - under 2 miles away for supplies from local coop. Then a dog walk along river and a quick pint in the Sun Inn, who are dog friendly. That evening upon arrival back with takeaway food and dog wanting its tea, we settled in to the sound of birdsong till dusk. This is such a lovely setting (owners front garden) that is well maintained. The paddock area set in 2 acres then leads to the river Tilling which is a pleasant walk with your dog. We took a trip to the Burton Waters complex en-route to the Pyewipe inn, if your into some cafe culture by the quayside this is the place to be, they have a pub and restaurant on site too, free parking compliments the visit. The Pyewipe Inn is off route and about a 3 mile walk to the brayford area of Lincoln, where you could always get the river cruiser boat back to the pyewipe inn. Pleasant, stunning location, quite unassuming, we will be back for some more shorter stays this year. Thanks John And Yvonne

Beautiful CL and really peaceful

Stayed for one night and had the whole place to ourselves - the lady was really friendly and helpful - the site is probably the most peaceful that we have ever stayed - no road noice whatsoever and the walk for the dog was outstanding - little pathways cut into the surrounding trees and along the side of a field was fantantastic - our little terrier didn't want to come home - he loved chasing around and sniffing for rabbits - we will definitely return for a couple of nights when we are next over that way

What a find.......

Not often one gets to stay in a landowner's front garden, but at Carrier's Farm that's exactly what happens. We thought 'This can't be right, there's only a drive, we can't see the house.' We proceeded further and were met by the very friendly owners who made us very welcome. The main reason for our break was the Lincoln Steam Fair in August, it was quite warm weather but thanks to the trees surrounding the large, lawned site, it was extremely pleasant. The trees provide a home for at least two species of owls, lovely to hear at night. The site is very quiet, being set well back from the road, but it has easy access. Lincoln, Newark and Gainsborough are all within easy reach, as is Lincoln Show ground. There is a pleasant walk from the site to the river, with fishing, if that appeals. Hope to return soon.

Stayed here for two nights. Lovely welcome when arrived. Did an 8 mile walk along the River Till and to Sturton by Stow village. Next day biked to the Fossdyke Canel and went to Burton Water and walked around the marina. can also get up to Torksey Lock along the Fossdyke. Will stop here again Poul & Tracey

A Green Oasis

A lovely CL, peace and tranquility so lovely to listen to nothing else but birdsong, no road noise, no nothing a perfect green oasis in August.  Very friendly welcome by owners, well kept grounds and a lovely dog walk.  Ideally placed for exploring the historical city of Lincoln and the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. We loved our short stay here and will return, most certainly on our "Favourite CL List".

Full Marks for Carriers Farm

Just arrived home from a couple of nights at Carriers Farm CL. Very easy to find if you follow the given directions and are not tempted to follow the first Broxhome sign from the A57 (this is very narrow) The photos do not do justice to the place, it is a wonderful and well kept site. A lovely welcome from the owners (CC Members) who explained where everything was and offered any help if needed. A small warning if you have dogs that like to chase rabbits, there are plenty of rabbits that come onto the site. We contemplated staying longer as we enjoyed it so much, but work beckons. All in all a charming, peaceful site within easy reach of Lincoln. I know we will return.
