Flooded pitch

This site has great access to the historical attractions at Falkirk and Stirling. We did have big pronalems with our hard standing pitch which flooded after one heavy rain shower leaving us with four inches of water inside the awning. The showers and toilets were clean and functioned well. The washing machine did not work and had a notice stating that it was awaiting repair some weeks earlier. We didn't meet the owners at all and all instructions were issued by envelopes. Great location but some issues.....

pleasant stay

Arrived and had a choice of pitches. Some of them would be a tad difficult to manouvre into as the site is sloping. If we had put our awning up it would have been rather tight. Views ok of country side but not the best we have had at a CL. Facilities were a bit busy as this has extra 'private' pitches so more than 5 vans using the single shower and 2 toilets. nice information shed with lots of information, (just needs a bit of a clean up) The position of the site is really great for seeing local area. We only ever use CL sites and found this to be a little expensive for the facilities provided. It was perhaps one of the most quiet and peaceful sites we have ever stayed on, far away from passing traffic.

Couple of nights

2 night stay on route further north mainly in order to see Kelpies and Falkirk wheel. Fine location for that and also Sterling. I agree with previous review, couldn't see why this site is a regional winner. Yes pleasant location, easy enough to find, facilities good - but I've seen better on many CLs. Real downside for me was the sloping pitch, both front to back and side to side.

A little disappointed

I could wait to arrive at this site due to the amount of awards it has won, but on arrival i was disappointed. I expected nicely laid out hard standing pitches , some pitches was like parking on a car park, no grass surrounding the pitches, just 3 pitches together in a line on one very large hard standing. The other pitches did have grass around them.. I only saw 2 flower pots on the site and they were on the edge of the large hard standing to make it look better but I didn’t. The site is fully serviced and has a toilet block and is very quiet. I have been on many CL sites that are so much better than this CL with lovely laid out pitches, all fully serviced, each have its own picnic benches and flower beds and cheaper. I find it hard to believe this CL has won so many awards, it must be the others in this area must be dreadful. I’m sorry to say we will not be coming back..

A bench mark for CL sites

We used this site in May 2019 on our way up to Inverness to do the NC 500, it's a well laid out site with wide pitches, the facilities are clean and well maintained, the owner is friendly and helpful,,just opposite the site entrance is a lovely walk way through the woods, ideal for our dogs,,,we booked for 2 nights but stayed for 9,,,good value for money ,,note:This site won the Scotland and Northern Ireland Region winner for 3 consecutive years,(this is a bench mark for how CL sites should be) ,we will use again on our way back from the NC500..,,highly recommended...

Excellent site. So peaceful.

Fantastic site from ease of arrival and welcome envelope with all the information that you require. If no one is around you just pitch up. Very organised and tidy site. We spent 3 nights there and will definitely be back. Mike & Ivy Dodds

Very peaceful site, a worthy winner of their award!

We stayed here for three nights at the end of a short tour around Scotland. The site is very well laid out, with water and electricity points easily accessible for each caravan. The information room is well stocked with leaflets about places to visit and nearby pubs and restaurants. We received a very useful welcome pack on arrival with information about the site and the facilities. This is a great place to stay as a base for touring around nearby areas. A visit to see the Falkirk Kelpies is a must, as is the Falkirk Wheel. We went to Dundee one day, which is within an easy drive from the site (just slightly over an hour) and went to the Discovery Museum and the V&A - both well worth visiting. The owners take very good care of their site and we would definitely like to make a return visit.

A lovely CL site

A lovely peaceful CL site and so handy for exploring attractions in the Stirling area, as well as a stopping off point if you are venturing further north or south as it’s only a short distance to the M9. Owners friendly and helpful, site very clean and tidy, all pitches are hard standing. Shower and loos spotless.

A perfect gem

We stayed here for 5 nights recently as we wanted to visit Stirling and the surrounds. The site is a first class CL and lived up to the reputation it has developed from many reviews. A lovely peaceful well managed site and a great asset to the Caravan Club. We would recommend, in addition to the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, visiting the Royal Borough of Culrose. Stirling Castle and St Andrews. Looking forward to returning.

Great site with easy access to surrounding attractions

My wife and I (plus 2 Labradors) stayed on the site from the 18th to 23rd July 2018. We have stayed on many sites over the years but this is one you will go back to time and time again. It is tranquil very clean and communal facilities are excellent. Plean Country Park lies 1 mile away approx. and is marvellous for walking dogs before we went off to view areas of interest and again before we returned to unwind on the site of an evening.
