Ease of arrival/welcome

Wish we'd found this earlier :-)

Under Covid we've started to explore our more local CLs - This one is a delight! Oodles of space....just about shouting distance to any neighbouring caravans (although we were alone for our stay last week).....facilities simple and straightforward but fully functional (including obviously newly-upgraded 16a electric hookups). Ground gently undulating, but any proper caravanner will have a few planks for levelling and we didn't need any....normal Norfolk soil meant one or two awning pegs needed repositioning to avoid flints, but pitching was nowhere near as difficult as the average CAMC hardstanding! Grass sufficiently cut, without being so over-manicured that I was scared to drive over it :-) Extremely friendly welcome from our non-intrusive hosts and otherwise left to our own devices, with everything necessary clearly signed and marked - perfect! Yes, with the wrong wind direction there is some detectable smell from the pigs across the way (but it's a working farm, so no surprises there :-) ) To be fair, detectable would indicate a north-westerly, which is not that common hereabouts. Never heard the chickens at all despite there being thousands of them just up the next field behind the trees. Their produce, however, is as fresh as it gets and available 12 hours a day at the eggery, adjacent to the gloriously quirky coffee shop run by Annabelle, who bakes the most delicious cakes. All this within 150 yards walk of the CL. The adjacent paddock houses Lucy the donkey & Pamela the goat, who are also friendly enough, but give off the air of "seen you lot all before" so really don't care whether you talk to them or not :-) 5 mins stroll from the site is Mid Norfolk Railway's Wymondham station and 1 min further is Wymondham Abbey and the delightful town, with a pleasant walk along the riverside as an option next to the railway crossing. Oh yes, we'll be back.....just hope a positive review doesn't mean we can't get a pitch next time :-)
