Ease of arrival/welcome

Excellent position, good-sized pitches and magnificent view.

The main feature of this site has to be the superb view, but it's also to be recommended for ease of access. Although close to the A39, it's far enough away for the main road not to be a problem. There's a big supermarket a few minutes drive away and all the facilities of a fair-sized town also nearby. The site's elevated position means that the 10 minute ride to the Camel Trail is steeply downhill, so unless you are super-fit, you'll probably have to walk your bike at least part-way back up to the site. We were there early season and had problems with the gas water heater in our van not staying alight because of the wind - next time we'll bring a small windbreak. Drinking water pressure quite low, which could be a problem when site full. Pitch size is more than adequate - pitches are 12 metres long with a 3 metres between pitches - all marked by ropes. Field was mown while we were there.
