Cherry Cottage CL

My experience of Cherry Cottage is a little different to other folk. A lovely maintained site for sure although a lot of rules and regulations are in place which spoilt it for me. Facilities weren't open and in a campervan I do struggle, and elsewhere CLs and club sites had opened their facilities. I should have checked. I was also looking forward to the peace and tranquility and while I appreciate I visited slap bang in high summer and harvest time, every evening I was there, I experienced a lot of noisy machinery. No peace at all, so if it is peace you're after then visit outside of harvesting! Entrance is very narrow and bigger units will struggle. Plus the hedge at the front of the cottage obstructs the road view when pulling out. I had a lovely pitch with nice field view., pitches are spaced well although Pitch 1 seemed a little close to bins and elsan. Bear this in mind if you want complete peace. I didn't use the dog walk, which was enclosed, but I noticed that dogs should be kept on lead in there, why? It is enclosed? Of course this is just my opinion and what suits me may not suit others, it is a dear little site and I'm sure my review won't deter others and nor should it, it is a good site, just not the right one for me.

Thank you for your feedback, we are clearly disappointed that Cherry Cottage was not the right CL for you, as we do strive to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay.

We would have welcomed the chance to address any of the points raised whilst on site.

We would therefore like to take the opportunity to provide some further clarity for other members, reading the review.

We have general T&C very much in line with the Club and other CLs, these are available on our website and sent via email to every guest prior to payment of the deposit.  In addition, we  are a COVID secure site and issue a COVID secure statement.  Both of these documents are provided,  in order to ensure members have a safe and enjoyable stay with us.

The facilities, toilet, laundry room and information hut (we do not have a shower), have been closed since reopening in July 2020.  This has been posted on our website, and all members provisionally booking have been advised by email prior to payment of the deposit.   Members were also re-advised in the pre- arrival instructions.

With COVID cases finally falling and the level of high level of vaccinations across the country we are pleased to advise that we will be reopening the garden toilet and laundry room from 1st August.

We are looking at alternative more eco friendly ways to provide information to our guests so the information hut will remain closed at the moment.  We do of course send out lots of information regarding places to visit, bus times etc prior to arrival, and are happy to provide local knowledge when on site of all the many wonderful places to visit from Cherry Cottage CL.

The entrance the the CL is standard width from a lane, we provide guidance to all our visiting members on how to approach our site, we also have a video on our facebook page to assist. We are currently in the process of further improving access, but for clarity units of all sizes have safely accessed the site.

We do provide a dog walk on site but it is not securely enclosed, we do ask that dogs are kept on leads as it is a hay meadow with a mown path and our neighbours have livestock in adjacent paddocks.

If any member has any questions about Cherry Cottage CL, please do contact us we would be happy to chat to you.
