CL Perfection

The best CL we have ever visited!. Beautifully kept site with good sized pitches. Grass being cut on the day we arrived and well-drained despite a fair bit of rain. Having EHU and water to each pitch is such an advantage, and the grey waste, Elsan point and rubbish/recycling areas were immaculate. Being able to watch the livery horses in the surrounding fields is really entertaining, they have such different characters. The proximity to the Kennet and Avon Canal is great, although the towpath eastwards was not good for our electric bikes, too narrow and bumpy, but going west towards Devizes was much better, wide and flat with very few overhanging branches. However, cycling along the relatively quiet roads to Honeystreet Mill café for their Big Barge breakfast was an absolute delight. Evening meal at The Kings Arms, All Cannings (30 minute walk along tow path) was excellent. The 'guide to walks' provided is so helpful as is the comprehensive notice board. The very best quality of this site is the absolute peace and quiet. No road noise, no farm machinery, no railways, just birds and wildlife. Bliss. Thank you Jacky and Bryan, we will be back.
