Lovely

We stayed for a weekend in July. The weather wasn't brilliant but the site was lovely. Quiet, nice views and a well kept site made the weekend great despite the rain.

Peaceful stay

We decided to try out our new caravan on this delightful CL, which wasn't too far from home for a first venture. The booking process and directions were excellent. We arrived to discover a beautiful site in a tranquil setting. Everything was extremely well organised in terms of where to pitch and clean water / waste disposal. There is a lovely woodland walk nearby which our dog loved and there are plenty of places of interest and excellent walking in the area. We could not recommend this site enough if you are searching for peace and quiet. We cannot wait to return.

Nice CL

We had two nights on this CL recently. It is a lovely CL, very quiet and peaceful. It is a bit sloped but depending where others are pitched, you can get level with some thought. We had a couple of nice walks with the dog nearby. Being in a Motorhome, it wasn't a site we intended to go out exploring from, as it is kind of a drive away from anything. The pub locally, was unfortunately not open when we visited, due to Covid, so we pretty much had just a quiet couple of days chillaxing. It is a nice area in which to do this. The owners were lovely and friendly too. The disposal point is away down the drive off the actual site - which is only a problem if it's raining when you have to do this, which, for us it was. The drinking water and bins are just the corner of the CL by the entrance so nice and accessible. Plenty of bird watching can be done here, Buzzards can be easily spotted when they are overhead.Nice site and good value

Quiet and picturesque

We stayed here for 4 nights last week, we found the site clean and tidy. We could pick and choose our pitch which was perched on top of the former track bed and if care is taken it is easy to level the caravan. Access to water, grey waste and toilet drop is easy. There are no toilet or shower facilities at this CL. The owner came on the second day and she could not have been more friendly or helpful. Access to Penrith, the lake district and North Yorkshire is so easy due to being close to the A66. A little gem of a site.

Lovely peaceful site. Shame no longer has toilet facilities

We stayed at this site overnight on our way up to Scotland. It is very peaceful with easy access. Unfortunately despite stating on the website that there is exclusive use of a toilet, there are no toilets at this site. As our specific preference is to book a CL with a toilet this was disappointing. Otherwise we were impressed with the location with a lovely walk in the woods close by and long distance views.

A Proper Rural CL

Friends recommended this CL to us, and we decided to include a one night stay as part of a northern tour. What a lovely CL! Easy to find, good access and a nice friendly welcome. The pitching field is part of the old railway track and it's surrounds, pitches are wherever you like, within reach of your hook up cable, so you can have plenty of space. The grass is lush, but we didn't find it overly long. There are slightly sloping areas, but not a major issue, and we didn't need wedges with our MH. The real bliss of this site are the wonderful views, the incredible wildlife and just the sheer peace and quiet. It really is lovely. There is a wc on site, but we didn't use. Not far from Penrith, access to A6 and A66 is easy, with all the shopping, petrol, site seeing on your doorstep, also easy access to the Northern Lakes. Good dog walking in the woodlands adjacent. Somewhere to just sit, chill out and watch the Roe Deer emerge from the woods. Lovely!

For us - A Perfect CL

Stayed here last weekend. Very Peaceful, but a short drive to Penrith, Carlisle and the Lake District. We had actually planned to stay here to visit the Lakes but local area was so nice we didn't venture into the Lakes this time. CL owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Field slightly sloping but we levelled our van easily (and we are novices). Great views. Saw Deer and various birds - Our dog found the smells of the wildlife extremely exciting. For us this is a great CL at a reasonable price.

Excellent!

A really nice welcome from the owners and a really nice quiet site with views across the valley to the hills beyond. They are occasionally obscured by mist or cloud though. I wish more sites were like this.

Station House - a converted railway station

Have visited this site on several occasions and have always enjoyed our stay. Friendly owners out at work locally so not always around during the day. A little out of the main Lake District area but nevertheless the surrounding area is lovely and the site very peaceful. Penrith is an easy 10 minute drive away. Deer can be seen feeding in the adjacent fields on the fringe of the woodland - a lovely site early in the mornings. Can recommend this site for a long weekend or a few days break.
