What a find!

What a lovely hidden gem! Stayed here to visit family in Blackburn and this will now be my go to place in the future. Had a little note waiting for us on the gate and then had a warm northern greeting telling us we could park anywhere we wanted. The gardens and the view are just beautiful. Had a peaceful nights sleep, can hear the distant hum of traffic but it didn’t bother us.

our 1st stay at close house

thoroughly enjoyed the early may bank holiday weekend at close house,,,our 1st ever visit but certainly will not be our last...such a peaceful, beautiful little site set within the well managed gardens with fantastic view to outlying moorland... mrs duckworth the owner was very welcoming and allowed us to pitch were ever we chose explaining were the water/waste water points were and even opened up her shed to find me a spanner for gas bottle i had to change as i had somehow lost mine as keen walkers we were more than pleased by the number and variety of different walks for all abilities within 500mtrs of site add to that the local pub doing decent food and a pint at £3.25 then happy days...we didnt try the indian restaurant in village as we bbq,d in the sunshine of an evening but im sure we will soon with only 1 other caravan pitched on site by likewise elderly couple mrs duckworth explained not many people stop here...much to our amazement in truth...maybe its no shower/toilet facility...i just dont know... but if people give this site a try then im sure that like us you will be pleasantly surprised

A warm welcome and wonderful views

What a lovely quiet site, we're so glad that we found Close House. Mrs Duckworth was extremely helpful and we enjoyed our stay with her immensely. There has been a great deal of work undertaken to improve drainage and being in a raised location we were happy and dry for our stay. The views are great of surrounding hills and our dogs were made very welcome. Lots of lovely walking within a short distance, especially around the reservoirs and the Hare & Hounds is a dog friendly pub. Nice looking curry house very close but we didn't get around to trying it out. Highly recommended and we have already booked for another stay.

A Relaxing Gem

Our first visit to this beautiful tranquil site, although Mrs Duckworth was away overnight, she left clear instructions as where to park my 7.6m long Motor home as we were located in her back garden on hard standing and not on her grassed site. What a lovely garden and view we had. A beautiful peaceful site to visit. We spent 3 night here and wished we could have stayed more. We will be back very soon and would recommend Close House to anyone. We didn't get out and about so we could not comment on the access to the surrounding area.

A lovely welcoming site

Spent one night at this lovely little cl site not far from our home. Although mrs duck worth the owner wasn't home, she had left a lovely note pinned to the gate with exact instructions of where to park . What a beautiful place this is. It is an ideal place for caravans with an immaculate field to stay on. For a motorhome there is a gravel hard standing away from the field and on ur own. I personally would have preferred to have stayed on the grassy field , to be with fellow campers, but as mrs duck worth wasn't there to ask, we didn't want to cause any problems for the stand in warden. Saying this where we were was fine. It's abt 10 walk from an Indian , where I've eaten before, and is very good. Beautiful grounds, slight noise from the road, although being on the field would be would have been quieter. Would I return.... Def. would I recommend ....def. at £9.50 with ehu and water fill up you can't go wrong. A little hidden gem in abbey village, Belmont.

Pretty CL in a convenient location

CL is very tidy and well maintained with attractive gardens on approach and good views from caravan when sited. Access to site from main road is fine (note, gate opens out toward you as you arrive); the turn into the field at the top of the drive is the 'tighter' part of the access but was trouble-free with our Honda CRV and Coachman Amara 530/4. Mrs Duckworth was out upon our arrival but she left a note on the gate and detailed plan for our pitches and called on us the next day. CL was conveniently located for motorway and road networks to surrounding towns and sights. Good walks to neighbouring villages from site on footpaths and designated pathways with a few good pubs around for refreshment. Excellent Indian restaurant a short walk from site - very popular, recommend phone to book at weekends. Need to return here when the sun shines. ??

great cl

Stayed at close house 6 times now and always met with a warm welcome from mrs Duckworth. Nice walks nearby , around 2 reservoirs and an old railway line which has been turned into a nature reserve about 5 minutes walk away.Good indian restaurant about 10 mins walk away, and a nice pub , the hare and hounds less than a mile away, good pub food served there too. Fishing ponds next door and a golf course. Only one mile from the M65 but you wouldn't know. A nice site to relax in the summer and good for a winter weekend on the hard standing.

Very nice

what a treasure of a place. peaceful apart from a little road noise from a very busy road, not a problem though. A very sharp turn into field, easy to negotiate with motormover. Charming lady very helpful, she has a lovely garden for visitors to enjoy. Rebooked for 2 further visits at least.
