Great place for the family

Wish to thank college down farm for another great stay for all three of our caravaners, on our 4 night stop over. Always a pleasure to see the owners very helpful in the worst wind off the year, toilets clean, pool great and warm, children love the great park area , only gripe was a caravan who insisted on letting his dog run around and seemed intent on causing trouble for no reason. This is a working farm after all. See you again next year a pleasure as always thank you.

Beautiful setting

We have just come home from a lovely weekend break here. The area is beautiful with amazing views through your windows. The toilet and shower were clean and 10p lasted about 3 mins in the shower. The lady that runs the site is over 80yrs old and is amazing. She was very helpful and very welcoming. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

A beautiful remote site

All the other reviews are quite accurate apart from the one saying the owner’s welcome wasn’t friendly. I would have given this all five stars if the toilet/showers were a bit better and cleaner. I don’t mind paying for a shower but a wall hook to hang your towel would have been nice to have. Also, my wife said there was no bin in the ladies, or the men’s loo, to put wipes etc in. How much would they cost to include? We’ll be back but it’s a shame such little things spoil an otherwise perfect place.

overpriced

We had a very wet weekend here, so bad that our van tyres, steadies and jockey wheel sank into the ground (not blaming the owners for the weather) on arrival we where given little information on the site i.e. where the bins where, waste water points etc. the drinking water taps, non drinking water taps and waste water tap where all out of order...... we had to use an unsecured tap on the side of a barn for water, god knows if it was drinking water. the toilets where ok however no hot tap nor hand towel to dry hands after washing them. the kids play area was run down with paint flaking from the metal. way over priced at £20 per night maybe £10 per night... will we be returning NO never again unless the price drops considerably.

Great quiet weekend

Had a good weekend here.  The site has good facilities for kids, the pool wasn't open but looked clean.  The loos were clean, a lot cleaner than some CLs we've been to. Friendly welcome great for walkers, across a short field and you are on the southdowns way. £20 maybe expensive for a CL but there is a lot more than a standard CL.

great location, poor facilities

Certificated sites often have superb locations and so did this one.  However, for £20 I would have expected good facilities to complement the vista. No hot water nor free showers; a toilet that wasn't cleaned in 2 days.  Presumably the price took stock of the swimming pool, but this was locked and not particularly welcoming either.   The setting was undeniably lovely, but marred by poor facilities.

Beautiful setting and peaceful

We are staying here this weekend 14/15 Sep 2013. Site is set in beautiful farmland, the view from our van is quite amazing, fields with grazing sheep. Quiet at night, although we endured heavy rain and high winds, and were surprised that a sheep was not wearing our porch awning in the morning! (A testament to Doreema). Welcome was very friendly and facilities are fine. We thought it was a bonus to have a toilet/shower block. There is a swimming pool (open in the summer), tennis court and childrens play area which look ideal for a young family visiting. I am sure we will return. We have had the site to ourselves for all of our stay apart from the odd hen wandering past.

lovely location, peaceful and lovely views

we stayed here over the bank holiday weekend, Saturday to Tuesday. We had previously visited the site to see the facilities before booking. Good points - Lovely location, peaceful with amazing views. We saw a barn owl each evening flying around. Tennis court, play area for younger children and a pool (not open when we visited). The downside was the toilet and shower block wasn't particularly clean, I don't think it was cleaned the whole time we stayed there. There is one toilet and one shower for both ladies and men. We were told to park very close to the caravan next to us as another one was arriving the next day( no more vans did arrive) . One caravan on the end did have a very spacious area and we did feel crammed in to be honest. There was one pipe in the ground for waste water and chemical waste which was quite tricky to dispose of. We did enjoy the peaceful location and the views, but £20 a night it is a little expensive and showers are 10p for about 2 minutes (older style 10p required).

An amazing gem in a beautiful setting

Eric and Marge welcomed us to there site a lovely setting a stones throw from the South Downs and Wayfarers way. A working farm with stunning scenery, Eric and Marge regaled tales of how things used to be and also there random link to speedway. We will use again and again.

I'd go again.

After reading some helpful unfavourable reviews of a local Club site I found this, my first venture on to CL's: winding country lane access through a beautiful village. Nice welcome. Well kept site on a hay farm. Good walking area, pubs a fair stroll away but do good food. 10 miles to Winchester (park n ride system on city outskirts - good value) which is well worth a visit. Showers take the older 10p - you only need one for a quickish shower. Nice facility for a CL but unheated room. (Pool and court commented on by other reviewer) Quite expensive for a CL, but so is a round of drinks at the hostelries. It's a monied area, but I'll be back (when I've saved up!!)
