Take note of the post code, make sure you follow directions in the book. Go slowly down the lane and even slower when gone through electric security gate drive is bumpy. Excellent welcome by Allie and Doug. All facilities spotlessly clean and hot gas shower. I was here for a week in April and grass was soft so stayed on hardstanding. Neat and tidy. They have beautiful apartments to let (very reasonable prices) and their guests park on hardstanding in front of you but well enough away so as not to disturb you. Check out the garden under the archway as shown in photos. Very quiet and peaceful. Asda superstore and petrol station about 10 mins drive , park and ride for Oxford and London 10 mins away.Excellent stay highly recommend.
Mixed bag for our October visit - very lovely spot, but shabby hard standing, grass not cut and site a bit 'tired'.
We stayed at Common Leys Farm in October 2023 in our two berth caravan. We had booked a hard standing in case the weather wasn't good. When we arrived we were a bit disappointed with this area. The hard standing area is basically a gravel square, one side divided up into (5?) caravan pitches and the other side a carparking area for caravan owners and guests visiting the farm and staying in the other accommodation (the farm has rooms for rent).
The caravan pitches in the hard standing were divided by small wooden picket fences with some wooden flower pots etc. Unfortunately most of this area was rather neglected. The picket fences and wooden barrels etc were in need of repair and rotting. There were many weeds and nettles and the hard standing area was being used for storing a multitude of things (stacks of logs, bricks etc). Similarly, most of the other facilities had signs of not being maintained well. Lots of nettles and clutter around water fill areas, lights not working in and outside the toilet block.
Because the hard standing area is also used as car parking for other guests we had a fair few people coming in and out in cars and it didn't feel very private.
We had really hot weather at the time and the site has a really large, lovely field in a terrific spot surrounded by trees. But unfortunately we couldn't use this as the grass had not been cut due to poor health of the owner.
However, having said all that, the whole site is in a really lovey spot, very secluded and rural and tranquil. We we were lucky with the weather so were able to sit outside and had glorious sunsets and some nice views. Visiting the local area is easy and there are lots of walks to be had.
The shower was excellent, really hot and there were two toilets, very clean, as well as washing areas. I would imagine that staying in the field in the summer would be fantastic.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but just had the feeling that this site, particularly the hardstanding area, has been somewhat neglected and needs some TLC and a bit of investment. In this case it would be very good indeed.
Common Leys Farm
We recently spent a night on this lovely site as part of a weeks trip, once we finally arrived at the site we were talked in over the phone by the very helpful ally, and arrived a t the beautiful and well thought out site. There is a choice of hard standing or grass with EHU, we chose the grass which had great big pitches and you could orient your caravan as wanted, The toilets and showers were well kept and clean with quirky disposal and water sites.
The major downside for us was that we used the postcode on this site which led us down a one way, dead end track. On phoning the site we were asked if we had used the postcode off the site as that was not where we needed to be! We were told to use a HP postcode which did arrive us at the correct site, this really does need amending on this site, it cost us a lengthy delay as we had to physically unhook the caravan to turn ourselves around, tis however is the only negative of our stay.
Great break.
Visited this site for the first time recently and had a week of calm & rest, plenty to do in the local area. Sadly the CL field was too wet to use but it looked great. Need another week there when the weather's better, so we went on the hard standings which was for the best on this occasion. Toilets and shower kept very clean, Outside doors were a bit sticky which might have been down to the weather. All in all a great time and we will return hopefully when the sun comes out to play.
Lovely Site
We have just stayed for 1 night on this site, having bought our first campervan and driving it home. The site had everything we needed, it was quiet and peaceful, although you can clearly hear the motorway, but having read other reviews I was expecting that, so it was not a problem. Allie was very friendly and showed me all the facilities. Hard standing was quite level and we welcomed the electric hookup. We will certainly stay again and next time explore Oxford.
Good site for Kop Hill
Stopped 3 nights.
Very good site and having a disabled son the shower room was top notch,
spacious, wet floor and bench seat which makes all the difference .
Near to Kop Hill so will be stopping again for next meeting.

Outstanding CL highly recommended.
We have just spent a week on this CL. There are hard standing pitches and grass pitches. We chose a grass pitch as we had our awning. The grass was well kept and mown. The toilet and separate shower/toilet were very clean tidy and well maintained. The CL was quiet except for a bit of noise from the M40 two or three fields away which you didnt notice after a while. Not a CL problem but roads to the CL in fact the whole area including the A34 are in terrible condition and many large potholes to catch the caravan wheels so beware.

Lovely site near to Oxford
We spent a very enjoyable long weekend here. The site is spacious and well maintained. The services are clean and very well maintained. This has to have the quirkiest and most beautiful waste disposal site imaginable which makes an unpleasant task enjoyable - seeing is believing. Allie and Doug are very efficient and friendly hosts. The only downside is its proximity to the M40 so traffic sounds do disturb the country peace depending on the prevailing wind. If you bring a caravan plan your route carefully through Stanton St John. Coming from Oxford the second entrance works best than the first as the narrow road is shorter with more places to overtake. Leaving via Forest Hill rather than Headington Roundabout was easier.
On our way to Isle of Anglesey
On arrival I called Allie as we missed the entrance luckily we weren't that far away.
The site was well Kept and quiet with excellent facilities Allie and Doug were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble
Thank you
