A tranquil site

This a beautiful, quiet, site on the edge of a working farm, with incredible views of the surrounding area. The site is sloped but we did not require blocks for our caravan. The facilities (a water pipe and electric hookup) are basic but that's what we expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back, as we have family in the area.

Beautiful views at a bargain price.

Four night stay over the early May Bank holiday. This is our second visit to Coney Grey Farm CL and we were the only ones on site, which was surprising as it's only £16 per night inc EHU. (May 2023). It's a beef farm so expect the odd tractor and mooing. Beautiful views from the pitches with easy access from the road and up the farm track. Two EHU posts, water and waste by the entrance. Grey waste tip into the fence as you won't be able to lift it into the Black waste toilet disposal. This is what a proper CL is all about. Basic and cheap. Too many CLs are trying to be too fancy and are becoming very expensive. Field is slightly sloping and can be wet when it's been raining. Blocks are recommended but we only needed one ramp on one side of the van to level it. Footpath for dog walking through the fields is by the entrance. We noticed this time that the road noise from the A38, about half a mile away was constant and rather annoying and what sounded like a large fan in one of the cow barns started very early. But this is the only downside. Short drive to Cromford and the High Peak Trail and also Crich Tramway, 2 for 1 for CAMC members. Thoroughly recommend the walk from High Peak Junction to Black Rocks although it's a 1 in 8 uphill walk. There is a car park at Black Rocks. Carry further along the trail to Middleton Top for spectacular views. Be aware the Derbyshire County Council has increased the parking charges on all their carparks so look out for roadside parking near to your destination. Most are cash only machines. £2.50, £4.50 & £7.00.

Perfect for visiting the White Peak

We have just spent a four night mid week break at Coney Grey Farm CL. The site is easy to get to by following the route in the CAMC book and the farm is clearly signposted which ever way you approach. Sat Nav wants you to turn off before the farm. Call in at the farmhouse and you will be shown where the field is. The field is on a gentle slope and you should have no trouble in getting the caravan level. I can't see the need for lots of blocks as in another review. We managed fine using just the jockey wheel. Its a large field for just five vans so space is not a problem. Electric hook ups, Fresh water and a waste disposal point are all here. The site is very handy for visiting Belper, Matlock, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Peak Rail. Cromford Mills and a delightful one mile Narrowboat cruise on the Cromford canal, pre booking is a must on that one. Also Tissington and Carsington Water are nearby. This is a working dairy farm. Our only fault is the road noise from the distant A38 if the wind is blowing towards the site, if sitting outside, but thats all. A lovely site that we shall be returning to next time we visit the Peak District.

It was ashame to have to go home! Enough said really! Clean, tidy, great views, welcoming and we will definitely be returning. On a slight slope so recommend levelling blocks, but not really an issue. It is a working dairy farm so expect to see the milking cows! Thanks

The views are incredible

We stayed here for one night and we didn't want to leave. This CL is what Caravanning is all about. We stayed on a working cattle farm in the middle of the countryside and the views were breathtaking. The pitches are uneven and blocks are a must but well worth the extra few minutes when setting up. We'll definitely go back.

Lovely weekend

I have just spent a night at Coney Grey Farm, I booked it in the morning and travelled the 10miles from home in the afternoon! It was so peaceful and relaxing, the owner was a delightful lady and I would highly recommend to anyone, even if you have further than 10miles to travel! Lol
