When we first arrived we really liked this site. Spacious and quiet with all the necessary facilities. It is in lovely countryside and it is an easy walk into Carnforth or down to the shore of Morecambe bay. However, when we returned on Friday evening after enjoying a visit to Carnforth and a train ride to Ulverston, we found four large tents and about 15-20 people camped in the orchard. This resulted in the facilities being seriously overstretched and there was definitely no peace and quiet as children from the group ran around the whole site until after 10pm. It completely spoiled our stay and would put me off returning even though we enjoyed exploring the area and would like to see more of the area. It states exclusive use of shower and toilet but this is clearly wrong. The problem of additional vans or tents on CLs seems to be on the increase. We have been to a number of sites that squeeze in more than five vans or have a separate part that takes additional vans. This is fine as long as it is made clear on booking. We choose CLs for the peace and quiet but sadly we are becoming more and more disappointed.

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are sorry to read that you had an issue during your stay. The CL Owner has been in touch as they are really concerned this affected the enjoyment of your stay. It was a large family gathering, a one off event with the tents being completely separate to the CL Site itself. They had tried to speak to all the people staying on the CL to let them know about the party but in hindsight things were bigger and louder than expected and they are sincerely sorry to the guests on the CL at the time. Our CL Advisor was in touch with them the same day and the CL Owners have assured us this will not happen again and they are sincerely sorry.
