Super Site

We Have had almost two weeks on this site and can honestly say we have enjoyed it. Although the owners at present have some seasonal pitches it has been a very quiet and pleasant stay. Morpeth is a lovely town 3 miles away with plenty of shops cafes etc a very nice park by the river too. The owners are very nice friendly but not intrusive and make sure all is well. They presently developing a totally separate CL site adjacent to this one which when finished will be excellent with lovely open views. I would highly recommend this site to anyone wishing to visit this area. The free WiFi is a bonus too which I am using to write this review.

Well worth staying.

First time to Northumberland and picked site from Club book. Site is very clean with all facilities needed, with a bonus of free wifi (using it to write this review). Would highly recommend site for peace and quiet which is close to cities and countryside and beaches. Would definatly come again if visiting Northumberland. Owners very welcoming and friendly with a good knowledge of the area, which was useful to us.

One Of Our Favourites

We are on our second visit to this site. When we moved onto our pitch we were met by Glen, the owner who pointed out the locations of the facilities: WIFI, best TV reception, Water points, the information board, the exchange book library, the laundry area, the recycling waste containers. The weather at this time of the year is very unpredictable. One of the reasons we selected this site was because of the all hard standing large pitches where you can have your water and waste water containers sitting on the firm area and walk around your van without the need to wear wellies. Other helpful facts: From the site there are excellent transport links. Biking on local roads and tracks plus a disused railway track, Stockton to Peterlee. Fantastic coastal walks Large supermarket in Morpeth. Really good markets in the surrounding towns all of which have free car parking. Many thanks Glen & Monica. See you In 2017. Patrick & Linda

Friendly and peaceful site

We are very simple caravanners and look for little when touring. We like privacy, quiet good access to amenities and great weather. I have stayed at this site several times over the last few years and would say it offers most of that. sadly Northumberland weather cannot be relied upon. The site provides very good sized pitches, all hard standing, free wifi and a basic, but clean, toilet should you not wish to use your own facilities. Set in the countryside near the lovely market town of Morpeth. It close to the beautiful coast. Its also very close to the A1 so an easy drive south into Newcastle and Tyneside and north to the Scottish borders. Perfect as a stop off in either direction, and very nice as a destination of its own.

great place

We have stayed at this site a number of times this year, each time we have stayed we have been made very welcome by the owners who we have found to be very friendly. We have two big dogs and this hasn't been a problem when staying there and the other caravan owners have been very friendly. The site is ideally located for the local tourist attractions and the owners have also supplied local attraction information. There is also free wifi which we found very good as we have two children, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to others

Static site not really a CL

This site was very disappointing after reading the other reviews. There were 15 statics on the acre and 3 spaces for the CL. The statics were tourers which had obviously been there for some time and made it look scruffy. The spaces for the CL were not ideal. There was no sign at all of the owners until we went to pay. The owner was however pleasant and the site in a convenient location but we left early and would not go back.

DISSAPOINTING

NOT OUR IDEA OF A CL SITE. There are 5 vans on first part ,then a small fence ,then 12 more vans . A scrap yard behind site and then a railway line . Not ideal

December visit

As others have said this is a fine, easily accessed CL, although it is more like a small basic commercial site with several seasonal caravans overlooking the CL pitches. The site is quiet as the lane which passes the CL's entrance is at present closed to traffic while the Coal Board redevelop the old Ashington Colliery into a Country Park. The lane and a couple of other footpaths provide good walking for one's dog(s). There is some noise, but not enough to be a nuisance, from the trains that pass fairly close to the site. There are the usual supermarkets at Ashington & Morpeth, both about 5 mls away. We found lots of places to visit even at this time of the year and others will no doubt be open after the winter period, our favourites being the Nothumberland beaches & Seaton Delaval House. At £12 pn for a 7 night stay and free WiFi we will certainly ise this site again as there are still other places we've not visited in the area.

Don't miss this one!

Lovely find, I can only reiterate previous review, very friendly owners, easy access road, open fields to rear of site, the pitches are long, wide, hard standings with generous strip of grass between each pitch. Railway line hardly noticeable seems to be freight quite intermittent not busy passenger line. FREE WIFI. Clean WC with cold water. The seasonal pitches adjacent are only occasionally in use and far enough away to be of no intrusion. 10AMP EHU, £14pn less than 7 days, £12pn 7 days and longer incl EHU & awning, deposit required when booking of £24 (2 nights) because people have let owner down with late cancellations in the past. Loads of places to visit very close by, Morpeth only 5miles away for shopping, Woodhorn Colliery Museum visit it via footpath from Woodhorn QEII Country park (free). Amble (delicious fish & chips), Cramlington - Northumberlandia lady, Newbiggin by sea, Whitley Bay, Cresswell Beach, Druridge Bay with water sports, Alnwick Castle & Garden (Harry Potter & Downton Abbet fame) National Trust properties, Seaton Delaval Hall, Wallington House, Cragside. to name but a few. Can't say anymore except we will be back and recommend this site to our friends.

A lovely CL - well worth a visit.

This is a real gem of a CL site.  The route to find the CL is relatively straightforward.  Once on site it is easy to get pitched up with the stoned roads and good quality hard standings.  The site itself is ideally located and apart from the train noise (which was not detrimental to the quality of the stay) it was a very quiet site.  Currently the road outside is closed apart from access to the caravan site which helps make it really peaceful. Facilities on the site are good.  Grey waste and Elsan points are clearly marked and in good order.  There is a toilet for use in the concrete outbuilding.  On the outbuilding is a large noticeboard with a range of information to help visitors get the most out of their visit. Opposite the CL pitches is a decent sized grass area where children are able to play.  This is encouraged - a lovely thought and a great family friendly feature. The owners are lovely people.  Not intrusive (we didn't see them until day 3 of the week stay) in the slightest, they are really friendly. We shall definitely return to this lovely CL on our next visit to the North East.
