December visit

As others have said this is a fine, easily accessed CL, although it is more like a small basic commercial site with several seasonal caravans overlooking the CL pitches. The site is quiet as the lane which passes the CL's entrance is at present closed to traffic while the Coal Board redevelop the old Ashington Colliery into a Country Park. The lane and a couple of other footpaths provide good walking for one's dog(s). There is some noise, but not enough to be a nuisance, from the trains that pass fairly close to the site. There are the usual supermarkets at Ashington & Morpeth, both about 5 mls away. We found lots of places to visit even at this time of the year and others will no doubt be open after the winter period, our favourites being the Nothumberland beaches & Seaton Delaval House. At £12 pn for a 7 night stay and free WiFi we will certainly ise this site again as there are still other places we've not visited in the area.
