Beautiful, rural location but got moved half way through stay

This is a very pretty location next to a canal with a swingbridge and views of the hills. There are footpaths leading off in various directions so great for walking and there are 2 pubs 10 minutes away each. We parked initially between the canal and the field beyond the row of tall trees. This was a stunning location on short mown grass and the ground was perfectly dry so no worries about getting stuck. We also wanted maximum solar energy away from trees as there is no hookup. But two days into our stay, we were asked to move as apparently someone had complained that we weren't meant to be there (we weren't the only ones). If we weren't allowed there then some indication up front would have been appreciated. The field is not as attractive a location by comparison, however still very pleasant. But to avoid the shade you would have to park in the middle or else on the hardstanding area near the swingbridge. There is quite a bit of noise from aircraft which seemed to be overhead a lot and the occasional farm machinery. It's worth noting that the field is next to a public footpath and regular comings and goings by pedestrians and walkers. One night there was a bit of noise from one of the narrowboat dwellers but it didn't go on late. The grey waste is not really drive-over as it is slightly raised on a grassy knoll and in the corner so would be awkward to access. But you can get close and use buckets, not a big problem. The tap is also there with a combination lock. Overrall pleasant site and great location but wish we had been able to stay next to the canal.
