Little Gem

Perfect little site for an out of the way stay in fantastic countryside. Rollesby is a sleepy little place with one Pub and a farm shop. There is also a short walk to Lakeside which offers tearoom type facilities in lovely surroundings. They are are all well worth a visit. Easy walking from the site with a very convenient footpath from the site into Rollesby. The site though small by comparison to some as it is in the owners, Ruth's garden, offers that special appeal that we found lovely. Ruth is very accommodating and a great host. You can cycle from the site via the narrow roads to Martham a larger village and then onto Winterton on sea which offers a wonderful sandy beach and a coffee shop, small grill bar and nice clean public toilets and that is it. No Yarmouth type arcades or amusements, it was heaven! The beach is soft sand, long and very clean, perfect hidden gem.

What a gem

Booked this site and wasnt disappointed, stayed for 7 nights altogether. Small very tidy and well kept site with apple and plum trees in front of owners house but hidden away. £12 a night with ehu. no showers or toilets but everything else and perfect for me. Walks directly out of site. Even swimming pool undercover. If you looking for peace and tranquility look no further. Perfect for visiting the Broads, Potter Heigham, Ludham, Hickling Broad, Horsey....will definitely be back.

Excellent CL. We'll be back.

We stayed at Cowtrott CL 13th-20th Sept 2020. It's a lovely small CL set in a secluded grassed area in front of the owners house. Sheilded all round by tree's and tall hedging, it's a quiet site with a footpath by the side ideal for dog walking, but clear up after your dog please. Drinking and WC disposal are by the house. 16 amp ehu at each pitch. WiFi is also available near the house. TV signal good, phone signal on three not so. O2 seems okay. Grey water from shower and sink can be disposed of in the hedging which is idel as it waters the hedging, some campers had fixed long hoses from their waste pipes into the hedge. A small heated raised pool is available to use but ask Ruth first. The site is reached down a short narrow lane which can be accessed from the north or south. North being the shortest section with good visibility to Cowtrott Lane. Access to the site off Cowtrott Lane is easy but watch the rear of your van on exit as it is slightly tight but was no problem with our 7.5mtr Coachman Amara. Longer units might find it awkward. Cowtrott is ideally located for visiting the Broads area and nearby Horsey Mere is well worth a visit. One hour wildlife trips are available at £10 pp £1 dogs at Horsey Windpump NT parking charges apply if non member. Nice cafe just nearby at Waterside on Ormseby Broad. Boat hire nearby too. For £12 a night for unit and 2adults + £1 a night for awning it's an absolute bargain. £1 per extra adult. My only one complaint is the grass is left when cut so it can end up in the caravan however careful you are. We'll definitely be back.

Ideal site for the Broads and Coast. Excellent value for money

Spent two nights on this pleasant site. Very polite and efficient welcome. Information shed on site very useful. Surprised that a family pool was available if wanted. Damson trees in centre of site offering their fruit. Plenty of space between pitches. Ideal for walking and exploring the Broads. Coast with some lovely isolated beaches nearby. Excellent value for money - 4 adults, one dog, awning and extra car - £14 a night. Some reviewers have mentioned narrow lanes but these aren't necessarily a problem as there is good visibility.

Peaceful and basic CL

When we first drove up to the CL we were going down some very narrow lanes and wondered where we were going but what a lovely surprise when we reached it. To be honest it is only a field with electricity and the 2 hard standings were just strips of concrete sunk in the grass but the sun was shining and it was lovely and peaceful. The grass was kept short and the field was level. TV reception was good and I dipped in and out of 3G/4G on the O2 network. It was close to drive to the coast and a short walk in to the village. We stayed 3 nights and our only regret is that we didn't book to stay longer.

Ideal CL to explore Norfolk

A very nice, relaxed and secluded site which on the warm days is a real suntrap, yet some pitches have enough tree cover for those requiring a cooler shady spot, small patio area and BBQ onsite. The CL is in a good location to explore the broads and coast. The owner is pleasant and helpful with an information shed detailing local points of interest and shops etc.
