Idyllic

Recently stayed on this site for an all too short weekend break. Spacious, flat site with easy access. Charming, peaceful village with two pubs, both serving food. Short walk to the sea wall and nearby walks through open fields. A good sign is that we wanted to stay longer! We will certainly return.

probably the most restful site ever!!

What a great site this is. Nestled in the most pretty village of Goldhanger. Flat, well kept, abundance of trees, yet still able to get full sun for all of the day. The wildlife on view from the van is superb, with, for good luck, even a cuckoo all day long. Two local pubs, the best one for food just a few 100 yds down the road, the Chequers, great pub, great atmosphere, in fact just about every one in Goldhanger seems to go out of their way to be friendly. The sea wall is about 250 yds walk away, with goldhanger creek. The sea wall is a delightful place, with massive walks in either direction, Maldon is a lovely town and the quayside is a Mecca for sea trips on vintage barges and great quayside food. In short, this site is a hidden gem, and the friendly owner looks after it splendidly. Highly recommend this wonderful site. A word of caution, ignore the postal code, it's totally wrong. Just look for the sign on the road which points to the Museaum as soon as you enter Goldhanger from Maldon, then take the fork just after that.

Best CL so far for us!

Really lovely weekend stay. The field you stay in is very spacious and flat (grass). Very peaceful and superb location. There are two pubs nearby which look popular but we didn't try them on this trip. There is a short drive to Maldon which is a lovely place for families on a sunny day. The sea wall is just a short walk down the road and there is a nice play park there on the way for the little ones. Hope to return!

A pure Gem

What a lovely site, it is flat, spacious, quiet and ideally situated for walking especially with a dog. The site is a large flat site with a smattering of attractive trees giving shade and interest. Behind the site are fields which can be accessed through the churchyard (about 500 yards from the entrance). There are two friendly pubs, one almost opposite the entrance and the other next to the church both serving food. From the fields the estuary sea wall can be reached where an abundance of birds can be seen. The owner is very friendly and obviously takes pride in the site. I just wish we had found it sooner.

Spacious well kept site

We stayed here in August 2015 as we were travelling around the area. Booked the CL over the phone, given precise clear instructions regarding access, water, hook up etc. Lovely well kept site with plenty of space. Information and further contact details provided on notice board if needed. Nice local pub across the road which has varied home cooked menu. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area.
