Perfect, peaceful and stunning scenery

What a gem and right on our doorstep. A perfect place to relax and breathe in the fantastic views across the stunning Somerset quantock hills. We can’t wait to return to recharge our batteries 😊

Beautiful pitch on working farm

This is a beautiful site overlooking the Quantocks. Shower and loo clean and warm. Excellent dog walking from here. We did a 10km walk, taking in three pubs and lunching at the Bell, as recommended by Kevin the site owner. It is a working livery yard, hence horses, dogs and guinea fowl around the place, some could find them noisy but we loved watching them. I have yet to find a bad CL site but this one is, in my opinion, one of the best we have stayed on. You will need levelling blocks as the field is on a slight fall. There is a water tap to fill up bowsers, tanks etc and the hook up is spaced to allow plenty of room to pitch where you would like. We pitched next to the horse field our collie spent hours, almost nose to nose, with some of her new equine friends. The road directly leading to the site is narrow but we found it fine in our camper van, nothing touched the roof and just was aware that Something may be around the corner, however passing places adequately spaced to avoid reversing. Use the postcode on the site details from the members’ page and it will take you straight there. We be returning to explore and discover more of Somerset. Neil

Pleasant site

Had a week here in August. Site is easily accessed and fairly level. Nice views and a beautiful area. Facilities OK, but could be difficult to access if a lot were on site - choose your time to go! Good cycling country. We'll be back.

Brilliant overnight stop.

Used this site twice en route to Cornwall and it is fabulous. Close access from the motorway, about 10 minutes, but beautifully quiet, with amazing views. Would like to return to enjoy a longer stay at this site.

Great CL!

Can only echo other reviews and say what a lovely little site this is! Clean facilities, well-maintained and a beautiful location. Quiet lanes are great for walking and cycling. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Exactly waht it says on the tin

The description of this site on the website is 100% accurate and I can't add much to it, except to say that the owner is very pleasant and helpful. It is a gem of a CL and reasonably priced as it includes use of a shower. Only small negative is that the last half mile of approach is along a narrow lane with limited passing places. Will definitely use this site again.

Just lovely!

Have just spent 3 nights here with two children and a dog. Pretty flat field, quiet, amazing views, relaxed hosts, lots of animals and wildlife and easy to get to. Will definitely return.

Really lovely site

We have just had a 13 night stay at this lovely CL. Our son lives nearby so it is an ideal base for us to see our grandchildren. The site is very peaceful and the views are amazing. Kev and Ally are very welcoming and we could happily have kidnapped Rufus!! We will definitely be going back again and again.

Beautifull views and peacefull location - April 2018

After a short drive along a small country road we arrived at Crimson Hill Farm site, access into the farm wasn't an issue. After turning into the site field we were greeted with stunning views towards the Quantocks and beyond. We were the only ones on the site at the time over the period of our five night stay, a couple of other vans visited but only over night; having plenty of space between pitches made the stay a very quiet and pleasant one. Two local Pubs, one walking distance (The Bell) with a local country shop next door, makes for a nice walk taking approximately 40 minutes at a stroll. We visited the other on the way back from a day out and had a meal, very nice and reasonably priced food. Close to National Trust locations and 30 miles from Mine head ideally situated for days out. Toilet and shower always clean and tidy which is attached and part of the house. As you visit, you walk by both the sheep, lambs and horses in the paddock which is lovely especially first thing in the morning, also Rufus, Kevin's little dog comes out to greet you 'good morning'. A really lovely stay Kevin and his wife really friendly and helpful, we will visit again.

Heaven!

This site is to us heaven. We stayed for a week in April and Kevin had warned us that the field was flooded, although we could use a hard standing. In a way this a CL is the opposite of some Club Sites we've stayed on. This is an organic, family farm with all that entails. In this vain Kevin gave us a lovely friendly welcome, whilst trying to cope with five orphaned lambs that were waiting to be bottle fed by him! Others have mentioned the view, which is truly amazing. Our favourite pub was The Far Canal which can be reached by a path, which was slippery and steep in places - as we were there after loads of rain. However with care it can be managed. On the way can be seen the remains of a disused canal and the entrance to a tunnel built in the 19th Century. It goes for about a mile under the farm. We also went to The Bell which was good traditional pub. However The Far Canal is different to the norm. The Landlord Simon is a larger that life character who sometimes also cooks a wide variety of food. They boast over 70 varieties of gin(?), local ale and fresh fish. Finally big thank you to Simon and Alison for a superb holiday
