Autumn 2020

Access to this site is via a rather narrow lane for the last 2/3 ml. There's also a gradient to start with, several passing places and one significant bend, all quite tight to negotiate as it's single track with passing places (maybe just big enough for passing a small car ?). When you get to the farm entrance (on the left) and enter the driveway you will see the CL field round to the right through an open gateway, all reasonable for width and turning space. Pitching is conditioned by the site electric box positions, though there is ample space for five pitches so that everyone gets the glorious evening sunset view. Grass length was acceptable during our Sep stay. Levelling blocks weren't really needed where we pitched, most pitches looked reasonably level. Water is from a standpipe near the entrance gate, along with waste dustbins and some recycling. Chemical disposal is in the farmyard on the right hand side of the farmhouse, with a flushing hose to hand. The loo and shower are on the opposite left side of the farmhouse side, and was clean enough on our stay, with hygiene protocols in place during our visit. theat the bottom of the pitching field. It is a peaceful and tranquil site with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Birdsong and random grazing livestock were the only perceptible noises, with maybe the odd vehicle passing in the lane behind the tall hedging screen. We really enjoyed eating in both local village pubs (The Bell in Curry Mallet and the hatch in Hatch Beauchamp) which are both just within walking distance if you are up for it. The bonus of fine dry weather most of the time made the stay very enjoyable. And the panoramic landscape views were memorable ! 0 replies
