Heaven!

This site is to us heaven. We stayed for a week in April and Kevin had warned us that the field was flooded, although we could use a hard standing. In a way this a CL is the opposite of some Club Sites we've stayed on. This is an organic, family farm with all that entails. In this vain Kevin gave us a lovely friendly welcome, whilst trying to cope with five orphaned lambs that were waiting to be bottle fed by him! Others have mentioned the view, which is truly amazing. Our favourite pub was The Far Canal which can be reached by a path, which was slippery and steep in places - as we were there after loads of rain. However with care it can be managed. On the way can be seen the remains of a disused canal and the entrance to a tunnel built in the 19th Century. It goes for about a mile under the farm. We also went to The Bell which was good traditional pub. However The Far Canal is different to the norm. The Landlord Simon is a larger that life character who sometimes also cooks a wide variety of food. They boast over 70 varieties of gin(?), local ale and fresh fish. Finally big thank you to Simon and Alison for a superb holiday
