First Class Everytime

Every time we visit. Croft Farm comes up trumps. Clean, smart, quiet, ample power and adequate facilities. This time in our new motorhome and the hottest day in the UK ever. Thank you Eddie and the team at Croft Farm. We will return.

Even good weather is provided free of charge!

This was our first visit to Suffolk with the intention of visiting Aldeburgh for Benjamin Britten. The region is fantastic and cycling into Aldeburgh and the coast is a lovely way to spend the day. The local villages are all accessible along back roads that are straight out of the 1950s! Croft Farm is great, it is really flat and the grass CL is absolutely fine even for a paranoid motorhomer who worries about getting stuck on every grassy field. The CL is really well set up and provides everything you need for a great holiday including some glorious weather. We look forward to returning in the future.

First class CL in Suffolk

Once again a first class stay at Croft Farm near Snape in Suffolk. Main field and back up field are pan flat, lots of power and water at high pressure. Services for cassette all clean and functional. Snape maltings is just 25 slow walk away as well as many other walks, all very well sign posted. Southwold, Walberswick and Alderborough all close by car. Dinner at Snape Maltings is excellent and the Golden Key pub in Snape very well worth a look in both for the excellent kept ale and good pub based food. Note for drivers that Adnams Ghost Ship now does an alcohol free ale in bottles which is excellent. Good TV reception on site. Waitrose and Tesco in Saxmundham. Chip shop in Saxmundham is very good and well priced.

First Class as always

We have stopped at Croft Farm many times now. It is always a first class site. Very quiet, pan flat, lots of power and services as described. Great walks within the area. Try Snape to Audeborough beside the water. A good 5 miles each way! Very good. Many thanks again Eddie.

Revisiting Suffolk

Having moved to the West Midlands ten years ago we haven't been to Suffolk for years so this was a pleasant experience. A lovely level site, free draining , well maintained, easy access ( if you use the cc book not sat nav) very handy for Aldborough, Woodbridge etc. Lots of footpaths for walkers and lanes for cycling. Easy walk through asparagus fields to Snape pubs and the Maltings, 1/4,mile to a garage shop with limited stock and no newspapers and a pleasant cycle ride ( 3 miles ) to Saxmunden with Tesco's , Waitrose and not a lot more or Aldborough. Eight days spent here and would return.

Virtually perfect

The entrance drive could still do with some attention, but wouldn't put us off making a return visit to this attractive and well-maintained level site.  There were lambs in the adjacent field and squirrels on the site itself.  We had little contact with the owners, though they were perfectly pleasant during what contact there was.  Not only are the whereabouts of all services - electricity, water, CCEP, dustbins and recycling - obvious when you arrive on site, but Mr & Mrs Gillett have provided a noticeboard with information about the area and instructions on how to pay.  The provision of laminated walks leaflets for members to borrow was a nice touch.  A footpath goes through Croft Farm and there are plenty of walking opportunities.  However we did little walking during our stay, choosing, rather, to explore the AONB by bicycle using some of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Explorer Guides which can be downloaded from the internet as well as obtained free of charge from TICs and other outlets.

lovely break

We have just returned from our first stay  at this cl. A good location with access to lots of footpaths. Easy to get to Snape maltings from this site.  We will return when the weather is better! But despite the weather we enjoyed our stay.

Another fine CL

As the heading says this is another fine CL, the bedrock of the CC (imho). There is only one quibble with this CL and it must be mentioned at the beginning because that is where you encounter it. The approach road from the main road is ATROCIOUS. It is full of pot holes and there is not a flat bit of it to be found. It goes on for about 400 yards. We had a small sidelight cover dislodged whilst never leaving first gear. I found fragments of it when I went back to search for it. This cover had survived about 15,000 miles previous to this. Please repair this road. Apart from this, and there is a saving grace insofar as you can easily access the little used back road from the CL, the CL is perfect for all of your needs. The site is found at the back of the small overflow area seen from the road and is set in a large triangle of grass. It is bordered by a wood on a one side, a large leylandi hedge between the two caravan areas and a wooden rail finishes off the triangle. The site is large enough to easily accommodate 5 vans and there is pitch marking with sufficient space between everyone to be comfortable. You can park whichever way suits and we have seen outfits parked a fair distance away using 2 electric cables. All pitches have EHU and the Elsan point is at the far end of the site away from the vans. The grass was short at the time of visit and didn't need cutting. Apparently it drains well. Water is sited just the other side of the hedge and bins are provided with recycling ones at the entrance to the CL. We had no problems with wifi reception using our Dongle. Don't know about TV as we didn't bother. Mobile signal is good. The attractions of the area have been mentioned by other reviewers and you can quite easily walk to Snape Malting, about 1 mile away by quiet country lanes. There are 2 pubs in the village, the Crown particularly serving good food. There are Public footpaths adjacent to the site for dog owners. The owners were away on holiday at the time of our visit but all requests by phone or email were answered swiftly. There is very little road noise as you are at the rear of the site but the local Rooks do go on a  bit! A very good base to strike out towards Southward to the north or Constable country to the south. Will return in future (when hopefully the road will be repaired).

Another Great Stay

A first class site, very clean, very organised, within a great area and very quiet. Good 16amps of power, plenty of water and services close. Walks all around and close to the sea via car. Two pubs very close in walking distance. Fully recommended to all. We shall continue to visit.
