Very disappointing

We were booked in for two nights, found the site no problem, went to main house and met Linda the owner who was most helpful. First evening the husband was out on his sit down mower mowing the field from around 8.30, stopped around 9.30 probably for his dinner and then at 10.30 started up again! Our 'neighbour' went out to complain about the noise from the mower, only to be told he would only be another 15 minutes! My husband then went out to complain and was told in a very aggressive manner that if we didnt like it, we can just get out and leave. Rest assured if there had been somewhere else to stay we most certainly would have left! One shower was out of order, both toilets were working, however there was absolutely no hot water at all throughout our visit. A real shame, with all the rave reviews this site has had in the past (albeit none since 2020) we had hoped for more.

Hidden Gem

What a lovely CL. Booked in for 1 night as a stop over before heading to Belfast for ferry. Wish we could have stayed longer. We had a very warm welcome. The site is a bit remote so nothing in walking distance but it's great for some peace and quiet. We will definitely return

Good but...

I don’t need to add details as these are well covered by other reviewers. I have deducted one star as, although a lovely site, it is quite compact and caravans are close together. Locally, Armagh is nice and full of interest. Newry is less so. Markethill, the nearest place has a brilliant supermarket and, up the Main Street, a busy little bakery. Both worth a visit. Visiting places we averaged about 50 miles a day driving seeing NT properties and a day trip to Belfast. Being school holiday time the adjacent glamping site, the quirky Teepee Valley, can be a little noisy in the evening from children letting off steam. Alternatives nearby are Clare Glen, a local authority site, and Gosford Forest Park. Both offer local walking that Cusher Valley doesn’t. Dogs cannot pass through the Teepee site but take them out onto the road and along a bit to walk to a large field below Teepee for an off-lead romp.

What a lovely place

We stayed one night here on the last night of a tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland, to be in place for getting to the Belfast ferry in the morning. It was a great stay, hosts very nice, site is immaculate as are the toilets and shower. Just over an hour to the ferry, with a handy, easy stop for lunch at Applegreen motorway services on the way there. We didn’t visit anywhere locally so can’t comment on how convenient it is for places of interest. Highly recommended.

The best CL we have stayed on

In our opinion this is a truly excellent site and great value for money. It is an immaculate site, well maintained with a fine information room and clean toilets and shower.

Lovely tranquil site

We visited this site during our 2 weeks of travelling mainly Northern Ireland, what a gem of a site water is at each pitch also Grey waste, some lovely views and well kept facilities, plenty of local places to visit and made feel very welcome. We met a lovely couple Bill and Helen who frequent this site regular they made our stay very pleasant.

STUNNING SITE

Visited from the 3rd August for 10 nights but sadly didn't get to meet the owners as they were away on their holidays, on the plus side we got to meet Adrian & Ruby who were looking after the site......What a great couple, nothing was too much trouble, from opening the gate to advice on places to eat. As the other reviewers say this site has got to be one of the best in Ireland. hoping to visit Southern Ireland next year but will be ending my holiday with another stay at this excellent site. Many thanks X Nigel & Sue

Superb Facility

As an experienced travel editor and caravan owner I am well versed in reviewing sites and hotels alike. I always use a critical eye and report problems where I need to. I visited this site on the 21st August 2016, I found the welcome from the host warm extremely friendly and wonderfully informative. This site is located near to Markethill and is attached to a fantastic and award-winning glamping site with Yurts and log cabins. The CL is wonderful and the owners could not be more helpful. Their prices are extremely competitive and the sower and WC are immaculate. The site is beautifully maintained and there is grey waste drainage at each pitch with water and EHU. A recent addition has been WI-FI. Set in beautiful countryside, this too is a must see site and probably the best CL in Northern Ireland, in fact I would say it is. The only problem in promoting such a site is, I may never get there again if you all turn up which you must do.

This site deserves a special award for helping and caring

I cannot speak highly enough of the way Ken and Linda manage this site it is a real credit to them. On my last visit I took ill and had to go to hospital for an operation leaving my motorhome on site. As my wife was not used to driving our motorhome Ken and Linda drove it home for us and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them very much for all there help. Looking forward to a return visit to this fantastic quite and peaceful site.
